fashionvictim86 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Like I said before, I met them already, but if I were to meet them again, I'd be like "How does it feel to have kids lusting after you who are about the same age or a little older/younger than your own kids?"or"Hey, I got some of your mail."
HelloFromTheGutter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 nor do i disagree with that at all. i wasn't talking about musical styles. i said that before, you replied about musical styles. i said it again, you replied with musical styles again. please don't reply to this if your post has to do with musical styles.Seriously.. What the hell are you talking about then? If not lyrical styles, musical styles, images, bringing the genre to popularity.. then what the hell else is there? You seem to be working around something that you have no clue what it is.. as you say I'm always wrong, yet for none of my responses have you distinguished what you were talking about..

whatsername555 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I'd probably make a total ass of myself because i would be so nerves.

Coffee In My 409 Maker Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 "Hi love your band." And maybe ask for an autograph... but I know I wont scream or jump on them... I'm cool like that.
I_Want_To_Be_The_Minority Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 i'll probably say "Hi"...i'd say hi too.
maja Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I would lost my voice (speechless and redundant ). And if I would succeed to say something I would tell Tré that he is the FUCKING coolest person in this world . cuz he REALLY is !!
HelloFromTheGutter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 breaking the genre into the mainstream. your last few posts have all been about musical styles, which are pretty irrelevant to what i'm saying. The genre was never "mainstream" back in the 80s.. Metallica never even made a music video until Justice.. So they got no TV air-time until 1987.. And no radio air-time until recently...Motorhead did a better job of "breaking the genre into the mainstream.".. Metallica was a dedicated thrash band back at that time, no music videos, etc.. Metallica, Motorhead, etc.. None of them brought "the genre into the mainstream.".. They popularized it largely, but thrash was never mainstream in the 80s.. Not until Pantera, etc, did the genre become minimally "mainstream"..
mclaren Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 motorhead was never a mainstream band by a long shot, nor did they ever transcend the genre like metallica did. yes, they were around a lot longer, but their gateway contributions to the genre aren't even in the same league as metallica's.
HelloFromTheGutter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 motorhead was never a mainstream band by a long shot, nor did they ever transcend the genre like metallica did. yes, they were around a lot longer, but their gateway contributions to the genre aren't even in the same league as metallica's.We're talking about the damn 80s when thrash was alive.. Metallica was NOT a damn gateway then.. Seriously, they are now, but were not back then! And you're right, Motorhead was NOT mainstream, nor was Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax or any of the other thrash bands during the 80s. It wasn't until recently had Metallica become mainstream (after selling out). And back in the damn 70s, Motorhead was already reaching #10-#1 spots in the billboards!!!! Metallica wasn't even a band yet at that time.. And Motorhead just continued to get much more popular throughout the years. It wasn't until the mid to late 90s that Metallica became more popular than Motorhead..Motorhead was much more of a gateway, Metallica was not until the 90s-00s.. But not in the 80s when thrash was emerging! Please answer my post instead of repeating yourself several times..
mclaren Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 so if motorhead was doing all of this before thrash existed, what were they a gateway to? that doesn't even make sense. i don't see how it's even plausable that more people got into slayer from motorhead than metallica. motorhead weren't even part of the trash scene.

Listen to it, a VERY thrashy riff.. And they were speed metal, which was VERY close to thrash metal..And what's your arguement, that Metallica popularized the genre or is a gateway to other thrash bands..? Cause Slayer is just about as different frmo Metallica as it is from Motorhead..
beat on the brat Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 they say that at like every concert..well...i dont know what i'm talking aboutso basically the child has never been to a green day concert, and so has decided to use quotes from any televised concert and hoped we're as dumb as she apparently is
spark in the night Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 ..cant remember if I posted here already.anyways...I'd prolly just ask for a hug, picture, and autographI did have this one extreme idea where if I ever met Billie Joe I would ask him to autograph my back and then I would get it tattooed. but I would have to be drunk
Caise Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Probably ask them to sign something, prefrably a CD (I use my walkman even though god has invented the "mp3") and tell them I think there really great musiscans and you know stuff you would babble to your fave band, and no I wouldn't be like "OMG BILLE I LOVE YOU!!!" I mean he's a person not an object, and would you like to know some teenage girl thought you were hot? I mean it's a lil ewww.... okay a lot ewww.

"i'm your fan."? they dont know me, they dont give a fuck... and i don't feel i need to tell it to them or maybe i'd just say "could you lend me a few bucks? for example 200?"
