Pan. Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I ask the same question myself. I'm quite lazy to read the previous posts too. So someone here explain. Oh yes, this is very irrelevant to the topic.
mclaren Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Oh yes, this is very irrelevant to the topic.thanks, you didn't just post that same sentiment 8 minutes ago. if you feel it's so irrelevant, you shouldn't be asking us to explain and get even more off topic.so what would you guys say to green day if you met them?
Tuesdays Child Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 thanks, you didn't just post that same sentiment 8 minutes ago. if you feel it's so irrelevant, you shouldn't be asking us to explain and get even more off topic.so what would you guys say to green day if you met them? I'd probably say something corny like "Your music really inspired me. Billie Joe, you're the reason I got inspired to write music and play guitar. You have really changed my life. I'm glad that I got the chance to hear your music" then I'd ask for an autograph or like something like that. You?

I was quite curious to know what the hell Slayer had to do with meeting Green Day, but in a way, you're right; let's not get more off topic.Well, about meeting Green Day, I would be absolutely ecstatic. I would be speechless and probably begin to cry.
sick Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 To be honest; i wouldn't want to meet them personally. I just... i don't see anything so 'great' about them as persons, and i would just be so shy and quiet and wouldn't know what to say.. they are some people i don't even know, what would i say to them. And they've heard everything 39829012 times, so it wouldn't make no sense. I just don't want to meet them.BUT!!If they would come running after me and wanting to meet me like 'hey wait i want to meet you pleeeeeaaaase' i would propably say something to them, which would propably be something like 'hi'.So Green Day, if you see this, i don't want to meet you, so please don't force me to. Over. And yes, i'm just saying that i'm such are great person that Green Day don't deserve to meet me.
HelloFromTheGutter Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 i'm not talking about "breaking ground" in a musical sense. i'm talking about introducing the masses to a new genre. while motorhead certainly pioneered the style of music, they never transcended the genre like metallica did. metallica are the only trash band to really ever do so, so i don't see how it can be argued that metallica didn't serve as a huge gateway band.Actually.. Metallica pionered nothing. Overkill and Leather Charm both created the genre back in 1980... Along with other pioneering bands like Discharge, Venom, etc.. all in 1980...Seriously, Metallica's music is not that much different from Motorhead's.. Very similar technique, lyric style, image, etc.. Motorhead was the band that popularity-wise, broke the ground for the other bands like Metallica, Anthrax, Overkill, etc, to come.. Metallica was not a gateway back then, but they are very much so now..Could we make another thread for this topic in the "other bands" forum? Just so we're not spamming..?
NobodyLikesU Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I would kinda freak out at first like OMG!!! Then I'd probobly realize I'm an idiot for screaming so loud...
fashionvictim86 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 God, who the fuck are these loser kids?I just wanna say that I fucking hate Metallica with a fucking passion. I know I had this huge thing with a forum member in the past, but the fact is, they really fucking blow. And it pisses me off that I see this shit posted in my forum.

And it pisses me off that I see this shit posted in my forum.I hate New Metallica with a fucking passion, too.. The Black Album was heeping pile of shit.. As were the Loads and St. Anger.. But Kill Em All kicked ass, I'd like to see any band you listen to pull off any of the solos in that album.. And the riffs kick ass, thrashy as hell with some catchiness, too. The same for Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets.. Justice was very good, but not up there with the other three.Well anyways, I'll stop plaguing your time.. I'll let you get back to taking it up the ass from MTV.

.Spiffy. Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 i......would actually give them a good hard stare and then ignore them. as soon as they turn around id attack them and ask for an autograph. i plan these things strategically
ILoveTableArt Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 "do you have change for a dollar?"that's random.
Twist Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 that's random.that's what i'd say to them. don't ask. :whistling:
day1_9 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 that's what i'd say to them. don't ask. :whistling:forget that, ill say........"could i have a dollar ?"
hollie caufield Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 I'd probably say nothing because I won't recognize them ! They might be much different in real life! Anyway, if I'd see them and recognize them as well, I'd surely slutter and say something they won't understand because my english is already bad in normal situations so I can't tell what it'd be in front of them!
HelloFromTheGutter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 you didn't even read my post, man. the first thing i said is that i wasn't talking about musical styles, and you post a whole response about musical styles.I doubt you read my post either :/ .. I said lyrically, musically, etc, in any way you could think of, Motorhead pioneered that style of music and brought it onto the charts BEFORE Metallica..
