Smoothed Out Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 None of them really depress me, but letterbomb does take me quite close to that.
Burnout28 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 heh.... you have a very good point. The Judges Daugher and Last Night On Earth Only Make Me Cry Because They Were Songs That Were Played At My First Green Day Show! oh and Whatername And Give Me A Novicane oh And Extrodinary Girl Were All Very Special Songs to Me At One Point In Time, and They Do At Times MAke me Cryy. but in General Green Day Makes Me Happy! =D
04rebhop Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 No One Knows is quite an emotional song. I'd say that Wake Me Up When September ends and Last Night On Earth were even more emotional when i saw them live. I nearly started crying, and that don't happen very often with me.
Eeefaa. Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 well, im not sure if any depress me, but there are a few that make me cry. not sure if its because im dpressed or because they're so beautiful. anyway i listen to them when i am depressed (not often, btw) and they help me get my frustrations out. anoter reason why green day are awesome Redundant, Church on Sunday, Wake Me Up Wehn September Ends, Good Riddance, BOBD, Waiting, Worry Rock, Rest, Last Night On Earth, Restless Heart Syndrome, Are We The Waiting, On the Wagon, Christy Road, 16.... GIVE ME NOVACAINE <3 seriously, that cant play in public places
sara_gd Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Christie Road, Macy's Day Parade and (the most) Time of your life, because they were the 3 last songs that Billie played on acoustic guitar in Madrid... I only listen to them when no one's around.
Conspiracy. Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Wake Me Up When September Ends. I always skip it, because I can't even listen.
matteo263 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 wow this thread is sooo old!! mine is probabbbly restless heart syndrome
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Hmm, I guess Wake Me Up When September Ends. On the one side it makes me feel really happy, and on the other side very sad. I don't listen it very often though, I don't want it to lose its magic to me. I mainly listen it when I feel sentimental or melancholic, general emotions like that, to at the same time, well, I wouldn't say cheer me up, but in a way, and on the other side because of the thing everyone does, listen sad songs when you're sad (instead of listening happy songs so you're not sad anymore). edit: yes, I think emotional is a better word, not depressed or sad. But there isn't really a song that randomly makes me feel depressed, that only happens when my mood wasn't very great to begin with.
Maddy. Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 None. I get emotional with some but not depressed. Like, MCR makes me depressed.
AfterShock Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Whatsername, WMUWSE, Good Riddance, Macy's Day Parade, RHS, 21 Guns...not really depressed, but emotional
Katarina. Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Well, there aren't really any Green Day songs that make me depressed. I wouldn't use that word.. I sometimes get emotional about songs like Before The Lobotomy, Macy's Day Parade, WMUWSE/TOYL and Restless Heart Syndrome.
saraHsunshine Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I actually don't listen to Good Riddance or WMUWSE very often because I have an emotional attachment to them that I do not want to lose. Neither of the "depress" me though.
xpoprocks&kittycatsx Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 For me, it's Macys Day Parade, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Restless Heart Syndrome, And Give Me Novacaine.
Marsupial Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 2000 Lightyears Away. I connect it to this one guy I basically fell in love with in my childhood through a friend; we wrote back and forth a bit since he lived a few states away from me. I lost contact with him the past two years and only recently, I found out he killed himself, so now, it's a little hard to listen to.
Christina. Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 I actually don't listen to Good Riddance or WMUWSE very often because I have an emotional attachment to them that I do not want to lose. I do the same. I think for me it would have to be Words I Might Have Ate - acoustic, Good Riddance live and Are We The Waiting. I wouldn't say they depress me either, they just make me feel something every time I listen to them and give me the urge to weep. Heh
AleKerplunk Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 She (live version) depresses me cuz reminds me the version in Chile 21 guns depresses me too  live version specially
Chiidatbe Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Most of Insomniac for me I think. Walking Alone too.
Armstump Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 80 2000 Light Years Away Before the Lobotomy (well, only the first and the last part of this song) Boulevard of Broken Dreams (this one only depress me when I feel lonely) Jesus of Suburbia (this song depress me the most I guess.) Restless Heart Syndrome (the "I'm my own worst enemy" part) Who Wrote Haulden Caulfield?
Mar Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Wake Me Up When September Ends, Uptight, Restless Heart Syndrome, Panic Song, Macy's Day Parade (even though it's my second-favorite GD song), Christie Road and Good Riddance on occasion.
darenmay Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 scattered, walking alone, whatsername, give me novacaine, wake me up when september ends.
Marki. Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I wouldn't say their songs depress me, but some of them make me emotional... As a lot of you said before - WMUWSE, TOYL, Macy's day parade, Rotting, Know one knows, 21 guns, Before the lobotomy (sometimes)... I don't listen to these songs a lot because I don't want them to loose their magic... Most of Insomniac for me I think. This! Insomniac is a bit depressing...definitely.
