Captain Pasalacqua Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Whatsername depresses the hell outta me.Macy's Day ParadeI don't know why, but 86 gives me weird feelingsGive Me NovacaineBoulevard of Broken DreamsWake Me Up When September Ends21st Century Breakdown doesn't have a lot of depressing songs. American Idiot has A LOT.
Tiffx Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Whatsername, WMUWSE and Good Riddance - BIAB versions.
Mato Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Before The Lobotomy. It's just one of those songs that reminds me on so many things and it has great chords. The last chorus of the song makes me cry. Also No One Knows can often make me sad because of the lyrics which perfectly describe my feelings at this age.
emmaILGD! Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Rotting, and Wake Me up When September Ends, that song brings back some pretty awful memories.
Bexie. Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Last night on Earth.. because its such a strong song, the amount of emotion thats in it is pretty hardcore. Also I always end up thinking to myself that I wish I had someone that I loved and cared for and that inspired me, so much that i could write a song as beautiful as that. It makes me realise what I dont have.. The first time i heard this song, it made me realise that things with my boyfriend werent as hunky dory as i first made them out to be.
safra Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 whatsername genuinely upsets me and makes me feel veeery sad. I don't listen to it.
iLozza! Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Are the Waiting usually leaves me in a slightly more depressed mood, same with Restless Heart Syndrome and Rest, for some reason.
Isabel Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Good Riddance is quite upsetting, given the fact that the song focuses on remembering your past. It's quite sad if you miss someone/something and now they're/it's gone.
Netsirk Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 whenever i'm in a really terrible mood usually the first song i put on is macy's day parade. i usually can't listen to give me novacaine, but if i'm depressed thats another favorite.
beebee7gd Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 wake me up when september ends, even though it doesn't necessarily depress me, but makes me sad and brings back some memories. i avoid listening to it because it makes me cry most of the time.
Hermione Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 They have lots of songs that are poignant to me and make me feel strong feelings. But depressing wouldn't be the word to describe it. Even though the songs bring out those feelings and might make me reflect, in the end they're uplifting. Being moved by a song is beautiful and it makes me feel positive, not negative. And again if I was already feeling depressed so I felt like listening to one of those songs, it would only ever make me feel better, it wouldn't depress me more. Maybe if there was a particular song I associated with a particular sad event in my life it would be different.
Andy17 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I have about 3 and I get depressed for different reasons that I"ll list:Good Riddance(Just in general, even when I practice it,Tre's part in the vid)Wake Me Up When September Ends( The Music Video, some bad stuff that happened to me in September or late August)Jesus of Suburbia(The full video of it especially at the beginning makes me feel dead inside)21 Guns(After watching Know Your Enemy, the vid for this just made me think alot, kinda like the others listed before JoS)
NowhereBound Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Oh, I need to add Give Me Novacine and Extraordinary Girl.
Dylan. Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I think Jesus of Suburbia does in the fact that it brings me to the brink of self-realization and although uplifting, is a draining experience. That song means so much to me because of how much I can relate to the Jesus of Suburbia. It's just spot on and makes me self-satisfied. I love it.
...staples? Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Wake me up when September ends hits home for me and so does Whatsername. Last Night on Earth and 21 Guns gets me too. They are just so emotional. Whatsername just depresses the hell out of me because to some of the most important people that have been in my life I'm probably a forgotten name to them. It's really hard to listen to sometimes...
Clayish Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Are We The Waiting? This song just makes me feel Jesus of Suburbia's pain. The quote " The rage and love, the story of my life. The Jesus of Suburbia is a lie." really hits me.
BrickOfSelfControl1995 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 good riddance... wmuwsewell i don't really get depressed... they just evoke a lot of deep thoughtagreed.and also All By Myself (the 'hidden' track after F.O.D)thats kinda depressing. im actually usually generally already depressed when im listening to green day, so i guess all of it? lol well some songs on 21cb are more depressing then others on their previous cds.Last night on earth i guess.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 no one knows. its so hard to listen to it. it jus sucks the life out of methatand letterbomb makes me feel like im witnessing the Apocalipsis ...THE TOWN BISHOP'S AN EXTORSIONIST AND THEY DONT EVEN KNOW THAT YOU EXIST
Boston Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Good Riddance depressed me tonight because it meant that Green Day was leaving Boston.
