Popular Post Flashback
Although Smash It Like Belushi sounds more FOAMish than other Saviors songs, isn't it fascinating how much difference a production by Rob Cavallo makes? That's a whole different level to all the songs on FOAM.

I don't think I've listened to the song without watching the video lol

Funny thing is when that song was released i was hoping they would go back to revrad or trilogy formula for their next album. But when foam happens i said "I forgive you Back To The U.S.A. song " 😅 Dessensitized, Suffocate, Favorite Son, Too Much Too Soon, Hearts Collide, State of shock (Even tho it's a demo) would like a word. Also, Governator and Shoplifter maybe

It's all about the money they gonna make off the new colored double vinyl ad now the cd again. Also let's talk about how they drop it the day the world is watching trumps tarrifs. Funny how they had no problem cashing in on the Iraq War and the Bush presidency but kee their mouths shut now except change afew lyrics live. If you think this isn't about cashing in releasing the cd for 20 bucks and double album variations at 40 bucks or more and also when they released it the first time it wasn't tied into promoting their stupid coffee then you need to actually look at what theyveeen doing. Green day stands for a different green now. I mean look how he was promoting that watch on the dl at the Grammy or whatever always having it in the photos while everyone else had a watch to show off too. Where is the watch now? How about when wolverine ad Deadpool came out in theaters and mike and tre dressed at wolverine ad Deadpool on stage adit made headines. You think that wasn't planned advertising for the movie? You think hiding the title of american idiot on devil may cry wasn't bullshit advertising? are you.....okay?

farley drexel hatcher
Idk if anyone’s brought this up yet, but does anyone remember an interview a while back where Billie talked about being a teenager and how his style was “a bucket of bleach on my head and I wore my dad’s old pants” not to be bad taste but you think the line “I got my clothes from a dead man’s closet” bit of a reference?

I don’t remember that quote exactly but I did think the same thing about that lyric because he has said before in reference to being 90’s fashion trendsetters that he just dressed like his Dad did in Dickies and work shirts.
That Dude
I really love the song, but the lyrics aren't really sticking with me. Despite playing it 1 Trillion times since it came out, it's kind of hard to sing along to. Some takes on the wacky lyrics though: Murder in the front row could be inspired from a time Billie had to sit in the front row of a movie, and how painful it is to look straight up. Haha Getting clothes from a dead man's closet makes me think of Dilemma - maybe Billie's saying he's like a dead man walking - or maybe like others have said, he dressed old fashioned. Reading guns and ammo feels smarter than the rest of the word-salad, as does the bridge which felt like it was building to something epic and then let it pass.
That Dude
Reading guns and ammo could be a reference to that Luigi guy, right? Didn't they read the words he put on bullets? I'm sure Billie had a lot of thoughts on that whole situation but didn't want to talk about it specifically so....word salad!

Guns and Ammo is the name of a gun enthusiast magazine so that’s probably the reference

We've come a long way from Here Comes the Shock. Absolutely. Simple as you say. GD generally described by critics as " a speedy, catchy, 3-cord punk pop band, with heavy use of power cords". And yet so effective and infectious, set the benchmark for other bands, yet none comes close. This song is no different. What an awesome song, and as for the guitar solo, holy shit. Just have to do what Billie Joe tells us to do and go fuckin' crazy, again. Can't stop jumping up and down and shaking my head. ❤️

The Grohl
The song isn't doing much for me. It's good and I'm sure it'll grow on me, but right now I lump it in with other songs like HCTS and Holey Toledo. Fine songs, but ones I ultimately forget even happened. I'm glad it wasn't on Saviors because it feels more like a FOAM track to me.
