Others, I'm not so sure about. Father to a Son is more like WMUWSE. Idk if I see BTL in Goodnight Adeline or VLG in Bobby Sox TADIKM is definitely 21CB inspired. Saviors and See the Light for sure have similarities, though the concept of Saviors is also similar to the Heroes & Cons concept from 21CB. Light is used as a metaphor for hope both in Saviors and See the Light. LIT20s is basically just H&H musically with lyrics inspired by Bang Bang. And Coma City definitely shares similarities with Static Age The political/social commentary on Saviors is closer to 21CB than I would've expected. Despite TADIKM being 21CB inspired, I was expecting the songs to be more generic political anthems like on RevRad but the theme of the American Dream is shared between the two albums Saviors definitely shares similarities with a lot of Green Day projects and even side projects but I think it's more of a combination between 21CB and a well produced trilogy album 4 Quote

I donāt know if thatās considered an official single but it should be. I hope it charts.Ā Just got off a plane and listened to Saviors four times on my flight. What fun start to finish. I still love every track but songs like Coma City (that outro!) Strange Days, Fancy Sauce and Goodnight Adeline really get me going for both their melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Ā Corvette Summer and 1981 are a just a lot of fun to bop to too. Billieās vocals are the best Iāve heard since 21CB. Ā I canāt imagine how over the moon the band have to be right now. They just finished a great week of promotion in NYC and they know they hit it out of the park with this record. CocaColaX Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I will have to disagree with those comments (here and elsewhere) saying this is their best album since AI. Itās not. Ā American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are still their best albums Ā especially as whole cohesive works, and including the album artworks. Donāt get me wrong, I like the majority of songs, but just canāt get into Corvette Summer, Bobby Sox, Father to a son (it may be a grower), and Fancy Sauce (sounds like a Teletubby song to me). Favourites are Look Ma, Dilemma, Coma City, 1981, Saviors, Strange Days, Suzie Chapstick, Goodnight Adeline. Ā I would have to put it on a par with FOAM, as I only disliked 2 songs on that album. Ā This one does have more tracks though, but unfortunately no Graffitia Ā (their best song since AI & 21CB, along with Back in the USA). Ā And the album artwork is terrible (not as bad as FOAM though), remember when everyone complained about Rev Rad - it looks fantastic compared to this one. Much as I would like to see them play American Idiot in full, Iām not forking out over Ā£80 to stand in a āfieldā in sunny Glasgow, especially since last time they booked Bellahouston Park It got cancelled due to the weather.Ā šĀ 1 1 Quote

DookieLukie Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 I think 21CB is one of their best made records. However, I always felt it lacked that Green Day catchiness and tongue-in-cheek attitudes at times. And itās kind of bloated. A great record to listen all the way through as a single piece of art, but I donāt really go back to individual songs too much. 3 Quote

Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, I think it's better than all the album after 21CB, and if people prefer it to 21CB and think it's their best since AI, good for them. But people/critics were saying the same thing about RevRad, how that's the best album since AI, and I'm sure a lot of the people who were saying that don't even listen to RevRad anymore I think Saviors easily beats FOAM. While I liked Graffitia and think Stab You in the Heart is genuinely really underrated, Saviors has at least 5 songs that I'd favour over anything on FOAM and there isn't any song on Saviors that I dislike whereas FOAM has a few songs I dislike. The worst songs are One Eyed Bastard and Suzie Chapstick for me but these tracks are still ok and are a small part of the full album. I didn't know what to think about the album art when I first saw it but idk, it's grown on me. It's better than FOAMF, it's better than RevRad's. I might even put it ahead of the trilogy covers though I don't mind those ones either. I think it fits well enough with the songs. It's far from their best cover but it's ok 16 minutes ago, Flashback said: Do we know if Blink 182's album is eligable for the Grammys 2024 or 2025? The return of Tom, the success that album has had is really good for a rock album in 2023, fans seem to love it, critically it seemed to have done fairly well with a 71 on Metacritic. The fact that it released in October 2023 may result in people getting somewhat tired of it or it getting somewhat forgotten by the time the 2025 grammys come around which is the grammys both albums are eligible for. 1 Quote
