stories and songs Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 @pacejunkie punk I find that really interesting too. It makes the song all the more powerful that it was written while actively engaging with the addiction. Who knows exactly what point it was written, but it certainly reads like a turning point of, “I understand this is a problem and I don’t want to stay on this path.” Addiction tricks you into believing whatever your vice is isn’t the problem (very much so displayed in the earlier interviews you mentioned), so this song is quite powerful in representing a moment of clarity. 3 Quote

GodzillaREMIX Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Good interview, but I'm a little unclear on the the notion that Saviors is "part of a trifecta with Dookie and American Idiot." 3 Quote

jengd Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 I think I do, hearing the whole album it made me think of many of their styles and earlier sounds, in some cases actual songs. It’s a bit like they put loads of their best songs in a blender and out popped Saviors but I really need many more listens, I just have bits and pieces of songs in my head today. 3 Quote

That makes sense - and all tied together by the tour. Quote
