steve46 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Is this song to be expected heavy, normal or quiet? Quote

BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Using the song that has been introduced as dealing with one of the few personal things that are widely known about the band makes perfect sense. Looking forward to it! 2 Quote

Popular Post CherryBombs&Gasoline Posted December 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 5, 2023 I was absolutely convinced that Father to a Son would be the next single but I guess that one will be released as a single when the album drops (or maybe not, who knows). I’m excited to hear Dilemma, especially because the two songs we got o far are quite different from one another (and we know that OEB is different, too). So I’m really hoping for an album that features the different styles that have defined the band’s discography over the last 30+ years. 8 Quote

From the Kerrang interview discussing the song Dilemma: And when Billie looks inwards, it's equally as poignant. Take Dilemma, which hears him singing how, 'I was sober / Now I'm drunk again, and, 'I don't wanna be a dead man walking.' "That's one of my favourite songs on the record," he says. "I think it really cuts to the core of drug addiction, alcohol addiction and mental health. The first line is, 'Welcome to my problems / It's not an invitation.' It almost sounds like Facebook within itself (laughs). It's like, 'Come feel sorry for me, come feel my pain.' But, you know, I don't have Facebook or Twitter, so I just do it in songs to where I think with melody it becomes more relatable, and people can interpret it in the different ways they want. It could be me just joking, but it could be dead fucking serious, too." 1 1 Quote
That Dude Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Green Day should release all 15 as singles. Why not? If someone says "flooding the market" shake your Trilogy Fist at them. Shake it!!!!! 3 Quote
jakdokinori Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Can't wait for Thursday! Seems like this song especially is very personal to Billie based on what he said about it in the Kerrang interview. 4 Quote
ekim Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Can someone post a link to the leaked Italian billboard article? I'm trying to find out if they gave any significant info about dilemma besides some lyrical content 2 Quote
Swaggerbeggar Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I'm expecting a mid-tempo When I Come Around/Warning/Walking Alone type of song this time around. 1 Quote

This was all they said: We all know about Billie Joe's struggles with alcohol and substances. It's less expected that he decides to lay it bare and talk about it frankly in a song with an unequivocal meaning. Hats off. Selected lyrics: "I was sober, now I’m drunk again / I’m in trouble and in love again / I don’t want to be a dead man walking." 5 Quote
That Dude Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Mid tempo. A little slower than American Dream but not much slower. Might have a slow part but mostly middish, methinks. Quote
Jankowski576 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Someone should Shazam all of the teasers to see if it’s uploaded to streaming services yet 1 Quote
