Malleus Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 These songs sound so fresh and energetic. Cannot fucking wait for August. 1 1 Quote

Popular Post Thatsername Posted December 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2023 Woah, this song and especially the video is so brave. It must be SO hard to deal with your problems in such an open, honest way. It must feel like standing naked in a crowded room. Still Breathing had a very similar spirit to me, but it was more a retrospective - looking back on hard times from a different perspective. This new one is like he's allowing people to have a look into a struggle that is still real, still there. I LOVE THE SONG! 9 2 Quote

Except I’ve liked every song so far and praised the first two singles. I like this too but I can also not like parts of it. 2 Quote

I’m not trying to be nosey on personal life stuff - but damn that makes the music video all the more heavy with this song if that’s how deep it was at somepoint. This is not a strange night for any hard parties 2 Quote
DookieLukie Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I like how the video portrays the good and bad sides of drinking. Lots of fun while it’s happening but kind of ruining the fun of you go too hard. 3 Quote

That Dude Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 The video gives me lyrical Jesus of Suburbia vibes. Someone else's cocaine, check. Alcohol - check. At first I thought "this is a bad influence" then then I got all teary eyed as I saw myself in dive bars and gnarly music venues probably being more annoying than drunk Billie. Wow. An honest, teachable look at how the party can go wrong. Or a different perspective - you only live once - fall into Tre Cool drum kit. 4 Quote

I don’t care who engineers, it could be a version of it was a demo that he tracked for them too. Mixing and production is where you’ll hear someone’s touch on it. I know you know this, I’m just stating to anyone who doesn’t 🤘🏻 1 Quote

Drunk Billie ruined the release of two albums, postponed a tour, had a public breakdown and went to rehab. Nobody should "want" that back 36 2 Quote

After having that public breakdown at the end of the Trilogy and going to rehab and stuff, I really admire everything you're bringing up in this post. It's honest and open and catchy and succinct without coming across as cheap. It's what gives the song such a strong backbone -- it's like a hug from a friend who knows you know what's wrong. Like so many of us who struggle with addiction, I've grown up with Green Day, so this song is a very comforting thing in a not so comforting time of my life haha. 4 hours ago, Little Boy Named Booze said: I see only fun! They probably tracked the demo with him before realising it sounded like 3 middle aged men making boomer garage rock knock offs with extra hand claps and decided to give it to daddy Rob Cavallo to make it into a fucking absolute HEATER. That Dude Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 The dilemma is clear, yet up for interpretation. Billie wants to enjoy life, but alcohol and drugs have some real negative consequence. Does he indulge, can he do so in moderation? Are us idiots encouraging him to do so? I had a famous person buy my some liquor the other night and I wondered....what if I had a drinking problem, and (redacted) didn't know? The lesson is this: silver tequila is tasty! 3 Quote
Popular Post Maddie86 Posted December 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2023 Good song! I initially set my alarm so I could listen as soon as it came out but I woke up around 730 and turned it off and decided to go back to bed... Then at like 9:07 my cat woke me up, I guess Smithers is a bigger Green Day fan than me cuz he really wanted to hear it! 😂 Also, the "dead man walking" line continues the zombie theme lol 9 Quote

Popular Post Mar Posted December 7, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2023 I really don't understand why this wasn't the lead single. It sounds like a hit and its lyrics are buzzworthy (no pun intended) because it's so personal. I think this would've made a bigger impact when it came to the comeback song. 9 Quote

It takes a crazy amount of courage to be like “honestly, this is something I always want deep down and my addiction tells me is fun, but the reality is I end up feeling awful and look like a disaster to everyone around me.” Still Breathing was also really personal and was probably humbling, but it’s more removed from the situation than this is. 13 Quote
