Drugs.

Or just memory problems. I can't even remember the poetry I wrote word for word, and I'm 27. (I FUCKING LOVE having ADHD!)

I like what we've heard but of course will need to hear the HQ recorded version to fully judge it. I do like songs that have a repetitive chorus, so far I'm into it.

Is it me or does the last chorus have a backing vocal that sounds like Monkey Wrench? 'Fall in, fall out'

'It's all over now'? It's so quiet in all of these videos I'm not even sure if it's there or in my imagination 😄

yes that's what it is, couldn't put my finger on it: some old-school foo influences, nice!

I think I heard the word "cocaine" in the bridge, oh Billie 😂

You won’t be missed either yourself, you’re the same one hating on a new song you barely even heard properly yet.

I am not liking what I am hearing so far. Take anything off of foam and it does sound way better lyric and music wise than this song. It is okay when somebody's opinion is different from yours. Is it a crime to like foam more lol? Chill  youre not being attacked whatsoever

maybe the song was called 1972 because he sang a chorus with 1972 and figured out other lyrics where 1981 would fit better

Strange that certain users aren’t coming after other people with middling opinions on the song.

It sounds fine 🤷‍♀️I'll save my final thoughts for when a recorded version comes out. But glad we finally got something new!

yeah it sounds fine and i just figured out why they teased with 1972.

If you divide 1972 by 2 and then add the square root of 300 minus the power of 10 times 3 you get 1981

For The Grouch, Stuart and 1981 Billie had a technician putting a lyric sheet on stage.

There isn’t many major artists who doesn’t use lyrics. The vast majority have an amp with a. Lyric screen inside now

Anyone thinking they'll make an announcement tomorrow that 1981 will be released as a single this Friday?

Honestly it kinda sounds like something that would come out in 2002, like Maria.

I already read comments like this one when 21st Century Breakdown was released.

Not the best job on the vocals but otherwise okay? It’s repetitive and I can’t say I’m impressed but the performance didn’t feel as confident as I’d expect from them so I believe there’s space to grow

I don’t think this is single material (I hope anyway bc if this is the lead single, what’s the filler going to sound like?)

God dammit, of course they played a new song at the one festival I was considering going to but then couldn't.

Not sure how I feel about the song yet, honestly I find it very meh. We'll see how a recorded version sounds.
