I get that. One thing that EC does so well that I wish Green Day would do is rearrange and reinterpret his old songs when he plays them live. They can be wildly different and it makes a song you’ve heard a thousand times fresh and interesting again.  If Billie feels like writing new material has become a struggle, I’d be happy instead of him doing covers if he would rearrange his hits and play them differently, very much like he did with Good Riddance for the audible. That was brilliant.

I agree. The accoustic rearrangements Billie did for Audible were so good. Know You Enemy gets a lot better with accordion. (Unironically!)

If he posted this by accident, I wonder how it happened

I think Is nota good idea to cover so popular songs...

Billie really has a knack for covering songs I hate and making them good. I love this! I wouldn't be mad with a No Fun Mondays Vol 2 at all!

Wow, this is just awesome! I've always thought Billie has such a wonderful classic voice. It really is so well suited to those sweet 60's harmonies. Phenomenal vocals! He's really showing off his talent and range in this one for sure!

All I know is that if they go a Beach Boys route, they better do it better than Pacific Daydream by Weezer.

barf.

I don't know a ton Beach Boys music but they are pretty good. They are also one of the longest lived groups, rocking the world since 1961.

Who knows what is coming around the corner.  Food?

Maybe the New Years Eve performance will be of this song.

I thought the White album was their Beach Boys record and that was awesome. Girl We Got a Good Thing and Endless Bummer are great beach Boys style songs, but I digress.

Now that you mention it, both are Beach Boy inspired!

Pacific Nightmare is "Beach Boys gone bad"  while White is a tribute to them.

He’s been practicing that falsetto for a few years now, pretty cool to hear him doing what sounds like four part harmonies all on his own. I’d love to see how he recorded the parts

Wow I love this! The harmonies 😍

The clip Billie posted sounds studio recording where as this is a live show

Sorry, I meant in that the Upside Downers do covers, maybe they are adding this one, or starting to do an album of Beach Boys songs or something.

Nothing better than a Green Day or Billie Joe cover.

But what I want is a legit Billie Joe Armstrong album of original stuff.

Sure, it would sound like Green Day, but it could be a great record.  A brave record.  Sometimes Billie hides things from the band while recording.  This could be him letting loose, being in full creative control.

Do you guys think this will be a No Fun Mondays cover? I hope so. Haven't seen him do one in a while.
