We shouldn't get tooo hyped because let's be real AI was a groundbreaking record and 21CB was the follow up to that while the guys were still at their absolute peak.

However... I can't stop thinking about the idea that this could be the record that we would've gotten had Rob produced their next big project after Idiot. We haven't heard Cavallo producing a GD record in the vein of American Idiot since, well, American Idiot. And I maintain that Revolution Radio + a proper producer would've been insane (and it was already pretty great), so it's easy to see why people might expect great things here.

So with the zombie theme and all that.. Will the song “Fever” feature on the record? I hope we hear that in full, I like the little clip 😊

i tried to find out how the teaser feels like, and i agree, if anything it sound closest to 21cb (maybe revrad?)

but i dont want to judge the song by a short riff/teaser

same goes for the first leadsingle, never judge a whole album by its single(s)

one thing i can say for sure is that it already feels better than foam and thats good 😅

Firstly.. who’s to say they won’t use it for this record whether it was an old song or it is indeed new? It’s a non released track so anything can happen.   

 

Secondly… Has this been officially confirmed? Other than some “in the know’s” saying it’s a FOAM song? It’s never been announced as a unused song to my knowledge, it’s people guessing it’s just a extra track from FOAM sessions.. 

 

I just hope they release it as it would sound good I think as at least an album track.

Not convinced but did wonder if we would get zombie versions of the band.  Difficult to tell who it is from the clip.

This album does seem to be a departure from what FOAM was. So the likelihood of getting a FOAM era song on this album is probably none. Unless the song wasn't included on FOAM because it didn't sound like it belonged on an album like FOAM or it's been reworked to work on the new album

Anything is possible with music, past songs can be used and recycled or reworked and re mixed etc. 

 

Who knows what will happen but ruling it out completely is just wrong as none of us know what is on the new record. They have said many songs are in the Green Day vault from the past that can be used, heard it in band interviews and it’s not uncommon for bands to do this. Green Day have also done this before with songs such as Youngblood etc. 

 

I have such high hops for this album either way and can’t wait for a new era and new music with a world tour 😊

Seems like a needlessly cynical way of looking at it. Songs get chopped up, reworked and reused all the time, that's just how it works. The end result and the Interrupters song you're referencing will be two very distinct songs.
