They probably teased back then because they thought the project would've been done a lot sooner. But then things changed, they stopped teasing, continued working on stuff and now we have news. I don't see what the problem is, people have just been getting their hopes up for announcements when the band has never claimed or implied that there was something just around the corner. This is the first thing we've heard apart from Rob saying the new album will "probably" come out in 2023, but we've pretty much known for a while now that the album's probably going to be in early 2024

I'm thinking the HTML looks a bit amateur-ish with a lot of commented out stuff and broken indentation in places. So seems like someone indeed used these to test their layout and then forgot to remove it.

 

Anyway, would WB register such a domain if it were only for a single / few lines from the single, or any other new song? This could be the album name after all.

yea but i am more disappointed than exicted for this today.. i would have loved to get an reals album announcement with cover merch to pre order and stuff to look at..

Personally, I think “Sweet (American) Dreams”, just like that, with “American” in brackets is a catchier album title than 

“the american dream is killing me”

i just checked their release history, and it seems like they always released the lead single no longer than ~2months before the actual album release (only with foam it took them ~5months)

we always talk about early 2024 release, so maybe january is a good choice?

That new Sum 41 song kinda sucks imo. Really not up to the standards of their last few albums, or even the older pop-punk stuff they've done

Idk if OEB is going to be on this new album or not but 1981 certainly is and I'm not sure what to think of that because it just doesn't seem like a song that would be good enough for a really good Green Day album, never mind being a lead single for a new GD album (which I'm not sure if it will be) I'm hoping it's just the "Know Your Enemy", of the album and the rest of the album will be lyrically and musically a bit more complex. Of course, the song could sound better on the album. If it's produced and mixed well, it could genuinely sound pretty great despite the lyrics being nothing worth talking about
