I pondered the same thing as I said that out loud, haha! 

We could actually be getting further and further away from 1972 until it fades away altogether  - another scrapped album on the journey to make a masterpiece.  

There could be 410 days before it's released, which would be....

March 17th, 2024 if it's on a Friday.

Yeah I like what he does on the guitar after the chorus. Interesting sonic choices the band isn't really known for that I would love to see more of

In a lot of ways it kinda reminds me of what Motion City Soundtrack did on Stand Too Close. Mainly just the guitar parts.

I'm not expecting any album, single or announcement for a few more months. I don't think it'll be 2024 but I'm expecting the album release to be in the 2nd half of 2023

My guess is we won’t hear anything until after the Innings Festival Feb 25. There’s a Coverups show Feb 2 and we were wrong about them making any kind of fuss over their birthdays so nothing will happen next month. But their calendar is empty until July so there has to be some reason for the gap I think we’ll have an announcement and promo beginning in March, maybe an album April or May and a summer/fall tour

Idk why people expect them to announce stuff on their birthdays, they've never done that. Remember back in 2016 when they were secretly working on RevRad and we expected them to announce something when the mayor of Oakland announced a dedicated "Green Day Day" and then nothing happened? We just need to be patient and we'll get it when they're ready

Maybe sample someone else this time.   Like R.Kelly.   I believe I can fly!

I might start a petition to get a completed version of Black Eye Liner on the next album.  They call it a Church On Sunday demo, but it's really it's own song.   Maybe it could work with an R.Kelly sample. 😄
