Redundantuserjinxboy Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I wouldn't mind if 1972 is a sequel of sorts to American idiot if so as long it's not called American Idiot 2, and as long it's coming from a place of true inspiration and it's not just nostalgia bait. Thing is, when you look at how the FOAM cover used the American idiot cover as a sort of nostalgia grab i can't help but be skeptical. 3

As for the 2:09 I seriously doubt it could mean anything. Since the photo is old it's unlikely that they would have the specific release date planned out back then. And why would the album or a single come out on the 9th? I think the 10th would make more sense (also considering the 10th is on a Friday this year.) And above all that; green day isn't a band that will cryptically tease you. They always let you know for sure when your being teased for #1972 and etc. Its been a long ass run but I know we are getting close to and actually single date. I can feel it in my nimrod 4 1
