I don't think the handclaps were ever Butch Walker but more a carry over from The Longshot. Sure I've seen a statistic somewhere for the number of handclaps either in one of the songs or the album

Yeah there’s a plug-in that generates claps to a cadence that I’m very aware Butch walker used on the last album

Say Goodbye had some hand claps in it. They're definitely in Extraordinary Girl too, and I love how they augment the rhythm in that song.

Oh yes, that's right! Maybe it's my general dislike of handclaps (don't care who does them) that made me forget they were there

True and can't say I liked them there either. But no, I don't think it's fair to blame the handclaps on Walker tbh, as much as I find them wholly unnecessary 99% of the time.
