oh and 1971 is the ballad, because track 7 is always the ballad

I believe I theorized this some pages ago, haha.   They could skip 1972 and save it for a stand alone single.   That could work.

I was wondering this too. British power pop? Brit punk? Beatles? Anything at all? There has to be some reason they wanted to soak up the London atmosphere and record there

Yeah cast your mind back a while BJ mentioned he was listening to a bit of Britpop , so it will be interesting to see if that turns out to be relevant or not .

I hope we get B-sides and covers with this too! Billie leaked that Beach Boys I Get Around cover although The Beach Boys are obviously not British. Tré was pictured at Abbey Road Studios so what if they recorded a Beatles cover there?!?!?

I’m late to the conversation and I suppose you’ve talked about this a lot already but how do you think the timing will go? Perhaps as they’re doing a greatest hits tour with Hella Mega in Europe and festivals in the US they won’t be promoting the album but only a single or a few singles? The promo would have probably had to start already if we were getting this album in 2 months.

Well we still don't know when they're actually gonna start releasing singles and the album. It could be late in the year. And there's only 8 tour dates for the European concerts cause the rest were cancelled so I reckon there's still a good chance that they do a tour for this album, maybe around 6 months after the last Hella Mega dates

I doubt we'll be getting the album in 2 months since they're still recording. We'll also probably get 2-3 singles before the album release too which will mean the gap between lead single and album should be at least a couple months. For FOAMF, the gap between the first single and the album release was 5 months. For RevRad it was 2 months

Anybody else hearing major "Taxi Driver" elements sparking out of the that last studio clip?  

I swear I hear "I don't need a ride / I need a lift / to take me to the graveshift shift /  Oh taxi driver....."

Since they’re still in the studio now, I could see a single coming out anytime between June and August, and the album in September or October

So I haven't been on this site in a very long time and am extremely behind, can anyone get me caught up? Basically all I know is that they're teasing an album called 1972 and that they've been recording in London. I'm also seeing now that apparently Cavallo is back?

Why wpuld they go to abbey road just to record a beatles cover? You know thousanda of other artists jhave used abbey road and countless Orchestra or comedy records there too its not just about the beatles. Just because theyre havi g a pic there doesnt mean theyre recordiing there damn. 

Side note the recorded the saints there with u2 no one seems to rememeber

I think at a tiny show like Gilman, fresh off of the back of recording some new material it's safe to say they'd be excited enough about it to play at least one new song.
