Yeah I think seeing things in colors is quite common - I’ve met quite a lot of people who said they see letters in colors and it causes them trouble because for example they see A as red, but the local subway line A is green, while another one is red, so they end up taking wrong trains.

I don’t see things in colors, but sometimes I get moments when my senses merge and I think “wow the light makes an annoying sound” when I see a bright light and a hear a sound or I get physical sensations from sounds and visual stimuli. I only started having these experiences in the last year so I think it’s not something people are born with.

That sounds more like color blindness, but I could be wrong. I haven't personally experienced anything beyond getting chills from a song/photo/movie.

I think color blindness would be more like not seeing a difference between the colors, but they claimed they can see them, but are convinced that certain letters are connected with certain colors. I don’t know though, I don’t have this kind of synesthesia.

Is that the same thing as sharp sounds that hurt? My daughter laughs at me because whenever I bang things in the kitchen that are glass or metal and it causes a high pitched ring I say “Ow!” It’s involuntary. It doesn’t hurt exactly, I don’t know why that’s my reaction

I feel the same thing!!! My mom doesn't understand why I ask her to put the dishes gently because the sound hurts.

Glad to know it’s not just me 😌

Maybe that explains why I can’t listen to HCTS. That sniff sound that travels from left to right in the headphones makes me cringe it feels like nails on a chalkboard and I physically cannot listen to it.

This is off topic but the weirdest one I know is my brother who can’t tear cotton wool!  This isn’t the same thing Billie was describing though I don’t think.

Is Billie a trucker now?

Omg I thought the same this morning
I was like "He seems like that kind of trucker that you see in an american movie"😂

I smiled the whole time, that was so wholesome! I loved the Serena Williams stories!

It might be! I sometimes get uncomfortable feelings from loud clanking sounds too.

You never saw iCuatro! ?
Or this video? :P

I finally watched that and it made my whole month. I want to be Serena Williams at a Green Day concert LOL. That was absolute joy in its purest form. I too am wondering how she got stuck up in nosebleed seats LOL, but maybe she just wanted a more authentic experience? She seems like a fairly down to earth person.

Synesthesia can be a skill that is mastered. Now I'm sure Billie writes his songs from the combined spectre of his senses. Which makes a good song quality, both lyrically, and melodically, and these two combined!

He is an artist after all. Very neat interview.

My daughter says they hurt her teeth

Billie seemed relaxed, happy, unguarded, and in good spirits. For that I love this interview. Oh and the blonde hair.

As I said before, in recent interviews I've felt like he's giving minimal answers and doesn't want to be there. This one felt different, even if it wasn't very informative.

Same here! Sometimes on the phone my mom can get pretty loud and there are times where I swear I hear her voice echo or reverberate throughout the room and it makes me wince.

Not sure if it qualifies as synesthesia, but different subjects/topics of conversation conjure up different places in my mind, and these places remain the same throughout the years. Like everytime I think/read/talk about philosophy, I see myself "floating" up and down this street near a park in my neighborhood. Or when I think about cooking I see myself "floating" near my elementary school. And this never fails to happen!

Glad that Billie looks healthy again and not that tired anymore!

Yeah. He should be like that more. He doesn't need a suit or an eyeliner to be a bad ass. He seemed super tired and bored until Covid happened. I loved how free he was with The Longshot. Not only the music was superior but it felt right too. I love seeing him happy.  Billie just desperately want Green Day to be something that it's not. But it can work as Foxboro or something else.

I loved the interview! His look was shocking lol, I literally almost didn't recognize him at first (more details on his appearance in the fangirl thread). There were multiple parts that made me laugh: "I stopped celebrating 420 about 4 days ago", when he brought up that annoying song "Friday", and his facial expressions when hearing certain songs . I knew serena williams was a fan, but apparently Billie continues to ignore her request to play Disappearing Boy lol. His reaction to Look for Love was hilarious, his face got SO red and he was laughing a lot. "I could sing it right now...but I won't". Also I noticed an Oakland Coffee bag in the background, on the kitchen counter. Overall it was really good to see/hear him again! He seemed happy and healthy :happyhands:

I know serena Williams was at one of the shows in Manchester in 2009 and the VIP boxes were in what seemed like the nosebleeds which I didn't get.

However I know some fans complained about her at the Palladium show because her minders cleared them off the barricade for her and it was felt unfair. I wasn't there so I've only heard the story

This made me chuckle. Where's the lie?

With that look from the interview, he could sell a tractor to anyone anywhere.

I imagine it must be so hard to be in her position though. You can't just go out and enjoy an event like a normal person without bodyguards and such following you around and controlling everything you do.

Oh this interview was a hint for the upcoming album: from now on country music is Green Day's future. Hella Mega will be cancelled and there will only be some line dance events in small towns on the country side. We saw it coming, when Billie wore bolo ties during the FOAM era 🤔
