Maybe it’s more likely Mike or Tre will write one for the band.

I could see Tre doing a Mad Libs style GD book.

I'd LOVE an autobiography! Billie seems to remember a lot of stuff so he needs to put all of that on paper. 2 parts of 700+ pages each, at least! Just like Obama's 😄

But I don't know, Billie doesn't strike me as a book writer. So maybe he could call one journalist who really gets him and be interviwed by said journalist. It'd be an official biography.

Mike has said that Billie remembers everything.  Someone asked Billie and he said something like he could publish a fanzine but I don’t see that happening anytime soon, who knows though, maybe he started during lockdown.  He could use a ghost writer or do it himself, I can see his spellchecker plodding 😂😂

I would also love it!  I seem to remember Billie being asked about a biography a few times and he always says he's already done it as it is all in his songs...something along those lines.

He's probably still too young for writing one, though. In twenty years it will be more appropriate.

Yeah, but none of the songs talk about that time he was dying diarrhea during the show, so start writing Mr. Armstrong! 😄

He is, but he better start writing before his memory starts to fade

God, he’s not 50 yet!

His memory is great! I have a memory of a 75 years old and I'm not even 30 yet!

But writing everything he remember surely will take some time...

Also, I replied as a kind of a joke

I can't really see Billie wanting to write an autobiography. He just doesn't strike me as that kind of person. Like others have already mentioned, he has addressed that a handful of times and said he's telling his story through his songwriting. To Billie, that's probably the closest thing to his heart and the most powerful way he can tell it.

Lot of talk about it here:

Sorry, I hadn't seen it. 🙄

No it's fine, anyone is free to make threads for stuff if they want whether it's been in Random Green Day News or not (in fact we prefer if everything isn't shoved in there, plus this way the thread can have an "interview" tag which makes interviews easier to find) :)

In this case since there's already some discussion in Random News I'll split the posts to this thread, which will unfortunately mean you're no longer the OP. But still thanks for highlighting it by making the thread.

Also another option if anyone sees something in Random News that they think could have its own thread, @ me or another mod to let us know and we might split it (I know you didn't see it there, just speaking in general).

I'm glad this is a thread now. I actually hadn't seen much of this because it got buried in the news thread.

I’d really love it too! At least at some point hopefully. I agree that he made us feel connected to his life through his lyrics and we can find Billie’s different life stages in every different album since his music also evolves with Billie and that’s great! However still I like the idea of reading a complete autobiographic book with some postive/chill vibes like a few of my favorite artists did. It just something would make me excited. I don’t think he would be the one who will write the book from start to finish. It can be in interview style with good in depth questions but I’d prefer to be a more like a story book because I’ve always seen not just Billie’s life but also the creation of Green Day as a beautiful and interesting story on its own but of course I’d like to read more about other things too, he can talk about his friends or all the people came into his life and how they affect him in the process for example. I’m sure that it’ll be an interesting read not just for fans but other people who loves reading biography books in general.
