I like to do these sorts of things so here you go: "Amyl": 52 times; "Nitrate": 46 times; "Wohohoho" 😂: 18 times. (All including back vocals too). Yes!!! Thank you
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 It's a bit disturbing that the amyls and nitrates don't match up
localinsomniac Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Has anyone noticed the verses in CUNT are basically lifted from Murder City?

This album is just perfect I love all of them so much. I enjoyed all the songs but I have to say that those sung by Van Gough have something special in them. Not only are they the most Network-y, but they hit me on a deep emotional level, I don't really know how to explain this. It's not even something personal nor is it connected with the lyrics, it's more of a feeling of staring at the whole world from atop a mountain and being at peace with it. I know exactly what you mean.

It's such a gift with all the crap going on and being in lockdown again, I love them for doing this!
Bakabanas Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Unpopular opinion: Digital Black is THE BEST song of Mike Dirnt, which is on par with the greatest songs from Billie.

Could be! The guitars are amazing. I've been obsessed with Red Dead Redemption and its soundtrack lately so I enjoy the western sound. I really love Time Capsule as well though, it's so catchy and the word play of it is so Mike.

Wow, I am listening to Time Capsule right NOW. "Max Headroom in the bedroom" might be the best one-liner in the album that cracks me up.

That's my favourite line too I wonder if it was just because of Christmas/holidays or if they're done with this? It's rather an abrupt ending if so, especially with the physical album and merch still to come. I'm still hoping a Mike Van Gough song will get a video, seems a bit unfair otherwise

Just curious which song you're thinking is the best from him? I think maybe Emenius Sleepus wins for ones he's written for me but for ones he's sung I dunno.

(And Emenius Sleepus is pretty high up on the list of worst green Day songs. It sucks in every way. Not a single redeemable quality).

On board with your first point, not at all on board with your second point . Emenius Sleepus isn't anything special musically but I love the lyrics.

It's definitely a great song. This has me wondering. Will Mike Dirnt ever have a hit song where he is singing lead vocals? I believe in Mike Dirnt. Wait.....This is the Network thread. Mike Dirnt isn't in this band.

(I have to clarify - ALL songs, Emenius Sleepus, Heard Immunity, others, are awesome. There is not a single song that I don't like). 39 minutes ago, Hermione said: That's my favourite line too I wonder if it was just because of Christmas/holidays or if they're done with this? I am for the first time clueless, what will happen next in Green Day world.

In case y'all haven't figured his out, I don't think Mike's a good songwriter.
Slave To The Network Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 I'm obsessed with Threat Level Midnight right now.
jengd Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 I’m with @Bakabanas, this is still the The Network community but things have gone very quiet - hoping this means there is more to come on some way or another.
