Im getting so pumped for this album. Guessing we’ll have Side B snippets today and so on till its released? I know its too early to call, but from the little we’ve heard it sounds so fresh, fun and well thought, makes me wonder if they plan to keep this going after this release, Im sure they’re doing it for fun and not in hopes to win a Grammy with it but damn, havent been this excited for a “GD” release since a long time. The Green Day name you can tell puts so much pressure on them...

I was hoping there would be a cd for Love is For Losers from the Longshot but nope never happened.

I wasn't aware of that 'cause I made my own cd since I couldn't buy it from the US. But it will suck that it doesn't come out in cd format too :(  I'm gonna have to make my own as well.

I thought The Network was more tecno than that...

should be the standard nowadays that lp's include a cd copy for the price. or at least a download. lp's are expensive enough.

imo a cd is more practical than a download (what if you lose your digital copy? then you have to rely on streaming and that sucks)

Unfortunately, I've noticed with recent vinyl I've purchased that they no longer come with download links, which I hate. I'm all for physical media, but on the go I want to have my collection on my mp3 player. Do they expect me to pay for the album twice? This is why CDs are a great option - you can rip them - but if there's no CD release (like Love is For Losers) what then? It sucks.

To those wanting a CD...why? Vinyl is a much more fun and involving experience. If you’re buying tangible media in 2020, vinyl is the way to go.

It really depends on the person. As @Hermione mentioned vinyl is expensive. I collect both and sometimes I just can't justify a vinyl. But a CD is easy to do. Plus, vinyl is very tedious and not everyone wants to deal with it. I know sometimes I do not feel like dealing with my record player and will just put on a CD. Also there's more you can do with CDs. They're easy to transport, easy to rip and burn, and easy to replace (if you need to). CDs also don't necessarily require special equipment to play. There's only one way to play vinyl: record player. And if you want a decent one, you need to shell out at least 200 bucks. But CDs you can play in cars, on your computer, on game consoles, and DVD/blu ray players.

As for vinyl is much more fun, again depends on the person. As someone who buys both I would disagree with that statement. I just think the act of getting physical music in itself is fun. Either way you get something to hold. And in some cases, you get a bit more with the CD. FOAM is the perfect example. The vinyl just had one lyric sheet. The CD had an actual booklet with new art for each song. And sometimes not every album justifies a vinyl purchase. I have a huge music collection. I'm not going to waste money trying to track down albums by Blaqk Audio or Slipknot or Metallica on vinyl. I love those artists, but it doesn't mean anything to me to have their stuff on vinyl. But bands and albums that mean a lot to me, like Green Day or The Cure, warrant getting the CD and vinyl.

Sorry if I'm rambling, but this is something I think about a lot because I constantly get asked why I bother with CDs.

TL, DR buy physical media for the things you love.

Side B!!!

Already know that degenerate might be my fav track from this album ❤️ sounds so much li gorillaz!!

What are the song names? I've decided to not listen until Friday so I don't want to watch the video.

Are we expecting C and D also?

Another new title! We didn’t have Degenerate. That sounds like a FOAM outtake for sure. And Carolina’s Ultimate Netflix Tweet makes a lot more sense now that I see the Acronym 😂 Respirator is pretty topical and Squatter sounds so funny. Love these!!

I'm going to make my own CD of this with just Billie and Mike songs. I'm sorry, but I just can't get into Tre's voice.

Normally I’d agree with you, I’m not a Tre fan, but Flat Earth is too good for me to skip. I’m not listening to these previews, so I’m hoping that the others are just as good.

I'm living for the Snoo songs. Now I want this album even more.

I just might like this new album more than the first one. (And that's saying something).

Tre who? If you're referring to The Snoo, then you should know that they're not the same person.

And who's Billie and Mike?

Do you get the sense that Billie had a lot he was holding in? 😂 If Green Day is really that stifling of his expression than fuck it. Clearly he had a lot more to say.

I think the pressure of the Green Day mold is stressful to Billie. He loved doing the Longshot and probably loves this. Something new and out of his comfort zone that won't get scrutinized every which way because it's by Green Day.

You always knew that was true but I’d never seen it as palpably as I did during the FOAM promotion and performances. He really seemed bored and had to psych himself up constantly to get energized.
