No way that this is Panicland. Braedon‘s voice sounds a bit like Billie‘s in short snippets of songs (plus they picked the right vocal parts). But in this case we have a complete song. Braedon‘s voice sounds really different when you hear more that just 5 seconds.

To me seems like someone have make (fake) a song (TUT) with no much expectations, but when Network things started happen, he quickly edited video details and channel details to get more attention.

The only thing that buzz me off at the moment is that The Church YT account briefly posted that Dr. Svengali video, when it seems pretty clear that he is not involved in the new record. Seems a bit weird thing to post in this context, but who fucking knows. I still think this is way above the Panicland VS Green Day level, and I would be extremely surprised if it is a fake. But this one thing is really make me struggle.

That's exactly what I've been saying this entire time. All the Billie impersonators I've heard usually go for AI era or Dookie era (the nasally/whiny Billie), but these songs just sound like post-FOAM Billie.

Thanks for that. That was one of my arguments I’ve made earlier. If you were trying to fake a Network song, it would be heavy on the synth new wave. It wouldn’t sound like TUT.

I don't see it (TUT) being completely faked since there has not been ANYTHING regarding The Network for YEARS and the boys didn't tease anything about TN, then TUT comes along and BJ posts about it on IG, then The Prophecy comes along. So if any random fan did a fake song why NOW, one month (September) before the first real song snippet is released.

IF a Warner insider knew about this they had to have a friend that sounds like "Fink" and write a (good) fake song...doesn't add up for me.

It would've made much more sense for fans to speculate about a FBHT reunion, especially since they JUST re-released "Stop, Drop & Roll" on color vinyl. The Network reunion came out of nowhere for us all (and yeah, I'm glad as fuck since I loved the first record )

I do not believe the song is a fake, even tho nothing is certain. But your argument is a bit flawed since we are in 2020, and a possible return of the Network in 2020 has been anticipated since 2003. The fact that the song was released in September is no real indicator of anything in this context. 
That said, still believe it is really hard to fake something like that.

It may be 2020 but there was no indication Green Day were actually planning anything. This year has been blown to hell, tours are cancelled, albums are delayed, and GD seemed to be doing nothing but covers. With COVID and the election and everything else to disrupt the year and three months to go there was simply no reason other than an old album title to successfully predict that an actual project was underway. For all we knew, Billie was surfing and releasing a covers album and Mike and Tre were quarantined with their families.  Only in hindsight can we now say oh of course The Network were coming back. We joked about it happening here because 2020 but no one seriously was saying it.

Still, there is so much work behind it. Even if I love TN myself, I wouldn't have made a song since the band didn't get toooo much attention the last years.

The point Panicland make about the synth shows that they know GD so well, that if they had decided to joke with us again, we would again have a really hard time to realize what is real and what is not. Thank God, they haven't involved in this one, and their statement is a generous gesture towards the GD fanbase.

If I want someone to believe my “fake song” is legitimately something else in 2020, calling it a The Network song (especially if you are a TN fan) seems like an easy choice to me. 
Then there is the fact that TUT doesn’t really sound like a typical TN son which counter this, I agree with everyone that made this point. If I want to make a fake TN song, I would never go with that kind of song. Without taking into account all this stuff that has no solid ground anyway, and just listening to the song, I still find pretty hard for it to be a fake. 
Then there is the Dr. Svengali video that keeps buzzing me off, but whatever.

Alright, another point: If I created a fake TN song and wanted to confuse fans I would've posted it pretty much everywhere (especially GDC TNC), but that would just be my route.

Actually that would have been too obvious and unnecessary. Stuff travels fast and is more believable if it’s spread by others you know and trust. It was dropped on YT and shared to reddit, that was enough. From there it got around.

Still, if I have to choose between FHT and TN, in 2020 I would choose TN. There was no concrete rumor, but the fans have been buzzing since always about the fact that “it’s 2020, a Money Money 2020 Pt II would be perfect”.
