Not too passionate about the TUT debate, but I listened to the song one more time and one argument in favor of the fact that it’s actually Fink singing (I will not even remotely consider those lunatics thinking that Billie is in that song) and the Network playing, is (and probably it has been mentioned already, dunno): the lyrics include stuff like “friend coming back home too many years since you’ve been gone”, and various stuff that can easily be interpreted as time travel related. Now, it’s the Network we are talking about, so of course is an easy theme to “plagiarize” if you wanna pretend to be the Network, but the Money Money 2020 Part II announcement on Instagram essentially states that the record theme is “ A Time Machine & The Church of Lushotology... “ and...

At first, I was thinking this was not going be something I liked.   and then WHAM.

I guess it really depends on what your record collection is. If you have a lot of records from 79-82 you'll probably be more inclined to like this stuff and get it cause you'll understand exactly what they're referencing. 

It is just a little comedic side project though so the songs aren't at all serious as they would be if it was a GD song. They're also experimenting well beyond the experiments we've seen in Green Day. 

The Network is still very different so if you don't like The Network I don't think it would mean you don't like Green Day.
