All I can think about right now is when someone requested Wild One at the Longshot show I went to, Billie initially thought they said "male bonding." Now I will forever associate that with Wild One. Thanks, Billie.

More proof that he’s gone deaf 😂

Not sure how you get "male bonding" out of "Wild One." They sound nothing alike, but ok, BJ... 🤨

Also, super excited about this. Bummed I have to wait another 6 hours for it to drop for me.

Next quarantine activity for the guys will be our boys chatting with us in the cocktail thread on GDC.

If you can make that happen, I'll join you in the spamming.

Stay The Night is already perfection! It doesn't need a remix :)

I'm really excited to hear that, it's great to have news from Trilogy, there`re really incredible songs there.

I really hope it's a sign that they will play some more songs from the triology in the future!

Exactly! I would take a Trilogy miniset instead of KFAD anytime

I just think distortion would add a lot.

Here's my quick review of the mixing in the three songs:

Lazy Bones sounds WONDERFUL. I was not expecting that! The drums sound almost Strokesy in the beginning. Much more open and natural sounding. Billie's vocals sit perfectly with the distant guitar on the left. When the full band kicks in now it sounds WAY more intense! I love this mix. It sounds incredibly compressed and slammed on the choruses, but I honestly don't mind it a whole lot. In this context I feel like it only pushes the intensity of the song. I'm not sure if I like or dislike how quiet the backing vocals are. Maybe like? I don't know. Also the explosion after the silence at 2:45 sounds PHENOMENAL now. As a defender of the Trilogy's production, I definitely prefer this version.

Wild One's a little disappointing. The generic sounding feedback before the song really kills the perfect flow between Lazy Bones and Wild One. Also am I the only one who noticed that the instrumental here sounds really low quality? Not in a cool garagey lo-fi kind of way, it just sounds like a low bitrate MP3 file from Limewire. Billie's vocals are totally clear and not lofi though, so I don't know what's with that creative decision? His vocals are also REALLY loud, like so loud that this sounds more like karaoke than a cohesive mix. They don't blend with the song, they just sit on top of it. I like the clean guitars added throughout, but I wish they were more pleasing on the ears with how low quality it all sounds! I love the fat crunchy guitars though. Overall I prefer the original here but this mix definitely isn't bad even though I just ripped on it now, but if you listen to the original right after you realize how much more clear it sounds. Also I like the original vocal take more, as these sound a little more "sleepy" and seem totally re-recorded to me.

Oh Love is kind of a middle ground for me. I like how the guitars sound more. In the intro they have a perfect amount of light room reverb to make them sound distant, but the vocals have this strange after-echo that I'm not big on. It doesn't match the guitar imo, but the general vocal mixing sounds perfectly fine. The reverb sound is only an issue in the beginning. The drums sound way more natural which is cool, but I wish the kick drum was a little more tight/punchy. Also why did they add new vocals at 3:28? I don't know how I feel about this honestly, but it's strangely jarring right after the solo ends, like it's rushed. Overall this is fine for listening to the song on its own, but the original is probably just as good.

All in all, this EP was worth having just for the sake of options and because we got that BADASS remix of Lazy Bones.

Is anyone able to post the previews?

Well I was screwing around with Wild One and found out that literally opening the graphic eq settings and boosting the 18khz dial up to nearly max massively improved the mix. This fixes my biggest complaint that the song sounds really muffled/low quality.

So these are complete re-recordings? New drums and vocals?

If I had to guess, the only things they re-recorded were SOME of the guitars, and possibly the drums on Lazy Bones. The drums sound a whole lot different on Lazy Bones, and some of the guitars are replaced with more traditional high-gain distortion (think Revrad, AI)

now that the testicles have dropped on these songs, i wanna hear a full trilogy do-over. these vocals! clear as fuck.

even oh love was good..and its one of my least favorite tunes in the catalog.

and just my speculation, but i think those are the original drum takes on LB, but SUPER tweaked from the way we know them.
