I wonder what Billie, Mike, and Tré are going to do when they find out what happened here

Yeah, of course that's subjective. I would say your argument works both ways though. Real Green Day isn't terribly original either. FOAM sounds just like Foxboro Hot Tubs and Dos. So in my opinion, it's pretty much just a matter of choice if you prefer Green Day repeating themselves with the garage sound or with the rock opera sound. I must admit that if real Green Day released these mootik songs I'd probably point out they're repeating 21cb. This isn't something based on a rational opinion, I just have to say that I've been more excited about this than the legit stuff.

Sure, but it’s also about accepting that a band can’t keep repeating one style of album only because part of the fandom is obsessed with rock operas.
I think those song bits we hear in the confession video sound cool, but honestly I am a primarily a fan of Green Day, not of 21CB :P

This whole story just shows how everyone apart from themselves wants Green Day to be this huge epic rock band.

kinda, although I'll be quite honest and say, I wasn't expecting an AI 2 or 21CB 2, nor a concept album. I just wanted the lyrics and song structure to be slightly more elaborate than most of what we've heard from the band since 21CB, FRA being the clear low point since the trilogy.

So the obvious question now. When can we expect panicland to put out the next Green Day album?

Chances are they’ve been following it this whole time via Bill and laughing their asses off right along with Panicland.

Since the video was originally sent to GD I think they knew and laughed at us for a while now :P

Wow...it's finally over.

Agreed, I wouldn't give a shit about concept albums because I'm not good at grasping stories in albums usually but if I had to pick between what was in the leaks and what we've actually gotten
well....

Maybe write a punk rock opera about it? Go make a thread!

Yeah I agree with all of that.

Maybe I missed something in the video but how did Green Day react or do they know?

So is Foxboro one of Green Day?

Hopefully @Matt. can shed some light on what just happened, and maybe explain what he originally told us, “They finished recording, then went back to record again.” And the fact that FOAM was shaved down from 17 songs to only 10. And Billie’s comment on KROQ, “Maybe we’ll put out another album like next year or something, we don’t know, because we’re off our contract with Warnerrrr’s! Yeah, cha cha cha!!!”

@21st_century_gloria What are we going to do, friend 😫 I only now got to the news from Bill and... I need to write some Bratwurst lyrics to heal my ache.

Is it really over now? Is it? 😥

Yeah I agree that repeating one style isn't great, but in the last decade there have been three trilogy albums and the Longshot all in some form of the garage style, and even though I enjoy it, it was exciting to see a possibility of a change. I wasn't hoping for Breakdown vol. 2, but some kind of development that would build on what seemed like a new direction on 21CB. If I could choose one alternate universe, I'd like to see what would happen if they got deeper into the kind of music that was Little Girl, Peacemaker etc. I can see that's not what's generally desired from Green Day though haha

At least ONE of my ideas came to fruition---GD is about to enter a place of JKIK, aka John Kiffmeyer Induced Karma...because this MOTIK stuff is just (imo) a better fit for green day, like tre was a better fit for them... lmao

if anyone from GD is reading this I love y'all to death still and you know I'm gonna listen to the FOAM album and buy your stuff and love y'all to death more. No hate ❤️

Okay so who is Bill? His post history seems to know a lot about the behind the scenes band stuff.

Oh come on, give it a rest. Coincidences do exist you know.

Little Girl is my personal favorite song and I would love to hear something like that again.

To be fair, we also heard two songs out of 10 and what we have been promised is an album full of experimentation :) I can’t say FOAM is a typical Gd song either.

Anyway, one AMEN for each “It’s 100% Billie’s voice I aM SuRE” 24.gif

Foxboro is Bill Schneider. Green Day's tour manager, friend and bassist in The Coverups.
