Don't like to brag about my predictions, BUT:

That might be a a sign of "guilt" in my opinion. If they had nothing to do with it, they would have said so. 

Everything seems uncertain right now, but if I had to guess I'd say Panicland thought of impersonating Green Day for fun and contacted the band about it. They said yes and maybe even helped them out a bit (by sending some B-sides, vocal tracks or something, or maybe just the discarded GFB covers). Wether it was Billie or Panicland that did the posting, who knows, doesn't matter too much.

I think they're gonna keep reasonably quiet about it until the albums come out (for both Green Day and Panicland, that will be in February I think). 

Again, I do still find it VERY hard to see Panicland writing, playing or recording any of this, but at this stage, it does seem more likely that it is a fake, but probably with the involvement of Green Day or some of their staff in some way.

Suggesting it isn't fake, would be either suggesting that Bill is lying (which he might, who knows) or that even he doesn't know about this "project" (very unlikely). 

So, that's what I'm going with for the time being.

Dude, yes. Tbh it's exactly what I expected from Green Day. 21CB was great in my opinion though. Sad.

What we hear in that video sounds like something that anyone who wants a new 21CB and nothing else would love. Epic emotional rock sound, and that’s why this troll is amazing. We almost all felt for it at least at the beginning, because most of us miss at least a little bit that sound and style, because many of us felt in love with GD during the AI/21CB eras. And someone felt for it a little more and a little too much later on  

The fact that it’s better then what Green Day released in the last 10 years is very questionable IMHO
