Wow, calm down. We get it, new green day sucks and it's hard for some people to accept it but don't act like a bunch of children.

Hey- I thought the new singles were fun and am looking forward to the new record! I just think there's something to this MOOTIK business as well

I think this era is way more interesting than the revrad one. Hope the album is better don't have high hopes though.

Let's take a look again Dookie / American Idiot epic album cycle theory (not sure its the right term)

Dookie = American Idiot

Insomniac = 21CB

Nimrod = Trilogy

Warning = RevRad

International Superhits = GFB

Shenanigans = FOAM (?) Possible the album suitable put as B-Side album

American Idiot = MOOTIK or whatever it is

So far I didn't dislike FOAM when heard two new singles, it's catchy and energetic but I think it is just not enough to pleasure my ear.

But why would they need to insert separate audio into the videos? Especially since someone is clearly holding a MOOTIK album cover in the most recent video!!!!

A couple of days after the “leaks” came the hella mega will Ferrell post. Billie joe hashtags #deepfake which leads you to the dr fakenstien IG page that professionally edits videos. Is it possible Green Day had him fake the MOOTIK leaks? Ugh i have a headache lol.

Random thought: that choir intro is probably the beginning of 1-800- LIES which is probably a 10 min epic 🤤🤤🤤

I think its alright to be hopeful here but we need to slow down a little.  We still don't know for sure that anything is happening.

Plus Crush has their own label so there was no need for Adeline anymore anyway.

Labels are sooner and quicker becoming relics.

There are musicians, producers, and engineers and Green Day will be putting music out like Billie did with Longshot. Mark my words.  They will give it a name of course, but a rose by any other name is still not a label.  To they extent they will be a label is that they will need a name for it.  But I bet they don't need the money is used to cost to make a music video anymore, promotions are made with social media and doesn't need to be funded anymore, nobody buys records, they make their money on tours and now they don't even have to give any of that away and the labels now (although I'm sure WB would grandfather in GD) but maybe they wouldn't.  The labels are scooping up the stars of the day by signing them with stipulations of crazy percentages of touring money.  They didn't even used to take money from the tours.  They would actually pay for them because it was promotion for the millions of albums they used to sell but now it's pennies to the dollar with what they make from physical exploitation of music instead of digital (or streaming, Apple Music, Tidal, Beatport, Pandora, etc).  I'm rambling but Billie LOVED being able to put out new songs from the LS album after the fact.  I think he was testing the waters for the workflow of the times.  Adds up.  They never really wanted a label but they  needed one for the ride they went on.  But now, they don't.  The fanbase is connected and will always check social media and grow fans at shows (everyone that goes to a GD show either is, or becomes a GD fan) like not many other bands i know.  So why not go out making  their own albums?  No interference.  More money. Ability to run it his way, which I believe a not much younger Billie would not have felt safe doing. I think his general sobriety has given him a chill.  Does anyone notice he's lost the "y'know" tick.  We always laugh at it but have no mistake, that was a nervous tick being made by a drug addict and he is more focused and excited than he's been.  I think we will have GD music for many more years, and now that they will own the songs, I think he'll be inspired to make more and sooner because he knows he's not getting any younger.  I mean let's be honest.  Sure if they are still touring when he's 70 we will still go see him but a 70 year old can't do a GD show like a show in 1989-2019..Those are a lot of years of putting GREAT FUCKING SHOWS...It's not like a Paul McCartney show (who I love and his shows are amazing in their own right).

I think he wants to go back to his real roots and the climate is perfect for it.

So far, I've been dead on about that he would want to do it. I don't think it has anything to do with hating the label other than normal people not taking their money for their intellectual and creative property but what would you do if you were him?

Sorry for the ramble.  That was some serious ADHD, even for me.

This is a battle of who we believe: @Matt. or @LaughingClock. Matt is confident there is no other album. Laughclock is saying there is.

Whoa, no I am not and Matt neither has no fucking idea, nor does Billie Joe Armstrong so nobody on this site have a fucking clue what will happen because I know for a fact that no definite decision about anything has been made.  (Pulp Fiction recalls "when you guys get together you're like a sowing circle" - Mia Wallace).  Billie's idea was to make 3 albums to finish his contract years ago with the Tril.  That always kills me that they got as far as announcing it before they checked with the lawyers on that one I would guess.  And anyway, NOBODY fucking knows so stop circle jerking and coming with what is because if someone says "WHAT IS" is a liar by definition because again the band doesn't totally know.

I happen to think we will see music sooner than later. NOT EVEN CLOSE to the normal coupe years.  I know thats going to be true for some reasons I know about how some people in or close to the band think.

BJ might know for sure what he want to do and when but nobody and I don't care if youre in the circle of Billie's people, you don't know either so NOBODY fucking say anything with authority because the authority itself is just in transition.

I hope that didn't sound rude to you Lukie, I think you're fucking great, I just wanted to make myself clear.  I'm saying what I thin because of known things but not things I KNOW.  But been right so far so yeah, I think as they are not  contractual  obligated to not put out his own music, they are going to make it rain Green Day music.   But I DO not know this as a fact will happen.

And what exactly is Crush Records?  Like I said, it's indie and it's just their management. Management in the big label business isn't also your label in the past.  If it was, it was because you were on a small label.  It might end up being as I said it will be under some name but it won't be like a label as we used to be one. You guys are young and maybe some don't know how big it is that the labels doom is imminent and significant.  The was music has went since the begging of pop music is A&R would search out bands and bring them in, groom them, give them a terrible contract that even the biggest stars have all endured and then if they make it past whatever negotiated amount of albums (in a certain time frame) and bands like Green Day made probably near a billion for WB,  Definitely 100s of millions.  But when you need the knowledge of the tables and a good manager to take care of you, hopefully, and of course accounts and shit like that but now nobody makes a ton of money on album sakes, steaming sites and the digital world ruined that and now there is a new way of exploiting music and the promotion happens on things like Twitter, IG, SN and all that.  It's enough for a band that is already established.  Still new bands need help in that regard for how to get it to those places properly and they convince them that they will fail without the money the label can provide for studio time, practices, and cost and know how for promotion (along with the manager, again hopefully.

So yeah, it was on Crush Records but Crush and Jonathan want to make money with them on the tours, not selling the album Life is for Losers which made Jonathan not a lot of money by any standard.  But he is his manager and set up every little tiny show (and by the way, he got a lot of credit with me, I loved all the venues and shows during both their tours). Those were some of the best times I've had at BJA shows.

Rambling again. You just saiid something, LOL

Ha!

+1 but no, again, I am sorry if I am coming off that way. Again, I forget how excited you people get.  I remember I said something once and it ended it up in some periodical in Italy or something.  It ended up being right but still. ;) I do not know anything and like I said before, they are not 100% sure of how they want to do things just yet so Matt doesn't know either.  This is not a battle because what I just said s a fact.

Isn’t music just the greatest thing?

Okay so I guess Matt won...laaaame.

Just kidding. Anyhow I think we all need to take a step back and just let things roll. Let FOAM release and then lets see what happens.

Also: I'm offering $500 to the person who comes forward and admits to making this leak. I'm dead serious, if you can send me proof of this being fake and how it came to be, even with an alt account, I will pay you $500.

Nice observation. Totally agree with you. Seem like you know more about album then I. Do you think drrobert leak is real Green Day?

In that case, it was me. Totally all me! Blood and money up! :P

Yes, I made that joke. FOAMF is awesome. Wanna tell me how I’m wrong? How about BITE ME instead.

I might be on to something here...

The user who leaked the original MOOTIK image was named CharlieAscarate.

Googling the name Charlie Ascarate doesn't yield to many results. You get a dude's facebook page and his Twitter page and that's about it.

Wasn't able to view his facebook cus I dont feel like logging in. But his twitter bio is "dont believe the hype."

Also if you look down on his twitter page he retweeted some green day news from 2015, confirming that he indeed likes the band.

https://ibb.co/sJ0GQQP

https://ibb.co/yWdGMwD

Think this is our guy?

edit: his facebook intro is "somewhere now." I hate cyberstalking this human being but damn this is all a little suspicious right?

edit: @CharlieAscarate doesnt seem to really be hiding the fact that he doesn't know anything anymore. His last posts dont have anything to do with trolling or Magnum Opus theory. Also one of his comments claims that Panicland is on MOOTIK, thats an outrageous claim. This leak is fake ladies and gentlemen.

heres a bunch of old info from the last thread regarding songsforassholes, from matt. According to Matt:

May not be the name of the album, but that’s been what the collection of songs they’ve written and demoed has been referred to internally.

... or the account will just become public. Video and audio don’t work too well in a book 🙃

The name came about before recording. So, when it came time to record in February, they had that name and used it for the account and started posting.

-SongsForAssholes is the collection of songs they have written and demoed internally.

- He hinted that the account might be open to public after the release of the album, but that just seemed  like him speculating, so i wont hold it against him for changing his tune now.

- If its not released to public after FOAM, its safe to assume thats because there is more music in store for us on that account. Probably not MOOTIK, but just new green day material they are saving up. Which is still excellent.

@Matt. is that a fair assumption?
