I've been on here not the long but he's been right on a few occasions. He knew about the album and that butch walker was producing for one.

to be fair, we all knew that :P

Which means we're close to the new album already. And round & round we go....

I'd say we'll get a release between March and June 2020.

Or maybe in one week.

If this is all a big hoax with someone using Green Day’s name, I’m surprised Warner or even Green Day themselves haven’t slapped them with a cease and desist order yet

Has anybody in Green Day either confirmed or denied anything relating to this ?

Bill Schneider came in this thread and wrote something like „Panicland is laughing their asses off at you“ and a guy on Instagram wrote Billie told him MOOTIK is fake. But, as someone else stated before, IF there’s any truth to the whole thing and they want to confuse us and keep it a secret, that would be exactly what you’d expect them to say, so... who knows.

“why would they release their best for the label instead of their first indie record”

truest shit i’ve read in this whole thread. i say we hop back on this conspiracy.

the panic land shit is a farce, they couldn’t afford that high of production or get a choir of women in their studio.

green day isn’t in on it with panic land either. them confronting billie and asking to perform a song was prettt pathetic and contrived. could you imagine billie doing that in 1992 to john lydon or Joey ramone? no. billie probably cringed to himself as those chumps did that and probably forgot about it. so the panic land thing is no longer relevant.

side note: 2020 is going to be a huge shift musically, gen z does not like modern music, it’s the equivalent to the plastic & dishonest 80s — girls, sex, partying, money or lazy bedroom mac demarco shit and carbon copies like greta van fleet  — boomers and millennials are equally as cringe for being such consumers for that shit, and i think the youngerish crowd is bored of it. All in all 2020 is going to be a big shift, so i hope green day has one last great album for an era that will be hopefully be very good for all of music.

This post has jogged something in the back of my memory.  In 2003 the Network sang about Money Money 2020 - could  it have been a prediction about Magnum Opus? 😛

But, as we discussed many pages ago, it’s not that easy. The Green Day name appears in the clips only as an hashtag in the description, and there’s no legal ground to take down content on Instagram due the use of an hashtag. Nowhere in the videos there’s an explicit claim that this is a Green Day song, and there’s no use of copyrighted material, since it’s impossible to prove whether the author sampled Billie’s voice. Therefore I think Warner has no way to take down this, when they take down videos on YouTube it’s either because there’s a copyright infringement or because there’s an explicit claim to be Green Day when it’s not the case (eg fake Bang Bang videos before the bang bang release).

Well if the album will have a different title than MOOTIK, Billie technically said the truth 😅

i feel like if it wasn’t Green Day then we would have more snippets by now of those songs. If it was some other band trying to get their name out by using GD you would like they would’ve come out by now before the momentum is lost. Green Day or someone inside of the Green Day camp wanted to leak this music, I believe the audio came from a voice recording on a phone as opposed to someone holding their phone up and outright recording a video. This is why they edited audio into the clips. There’s is simply too much evidence that seems to point to MOOTIK being real. Why haven’t any interviewer straight up asked them ?  Any one who would be interviewing Green Day about FOAM would have to have done some research and anyone would find this theory interesting enough to ask. Well unless Green Day approves the questions before they’re asked. The one thing we all need is patience!! Lol

This whole thing just feels very strange to me😂🤷🏻‍♂️

The person who made this leak is probably feeling pretty smug knowing that were all still discussing it all these months later

why would someone go through so much effort just to troll

Because some people just want to watch the world burn.  They got a reaction didnt they? More than 15 minutes of fame

But why would they need to insert separate audio into the videos? Especially since someone is clearly holding a MOOTIK album cover in the most recent video!!!!

A couple of days after the “leaks” came the hella mega will Ferrell post. Billie joe hashtags #deepfake which leads you to the dr fakenstien IG page that professionally edits videos. Is it possible Green Day had him fake the MOOTIK leaks? Ugh i have a headache lol.

I get the idea that the record is sort of a "promote this" to the label, but it's still weird to me that the band would release something that could impact their legacy. To the casual fan who doesn't know about their record contract, the album cover looks like shit and forced nostalgia. I won't speak to the music yet since it's not out.

They are not gonna put stuff on there they don’t like it’s just if you were them, wouldn’t you save all the really good ones IYO that can make you every dollar of the money coming from the next one. With the climate of digital sales today and the way nobody but groups like them even move albums (there was a time when people didn’t tour like this and the levels is meet their pay back requirements through touring. Nah, they are just obviously excited to own their music.

Not like he’s writing bad stuff though.

Okay, it’s becoming painfully obvious that I need to log in more. Are the guys really unhappy with Warner? I know some bands (blink-182, the Offspring, Sum 41) have left their major labels, but is Green Day really looking to go indie? And I just googled Jingle Town Records (I thought it was just a recording studio) and saw that it is listed as “permanently closed.”

On a related note: why’d Adeline close? I used to think that they’d go there if they ever left Warner (or potentially something like Epitaph/Hellcat or Fat).

Adeline was being run by Pat Magnarella and closed when they switched management to Crush.

Plus Crush has their own label so there was no need for Adeline anymore anyway.

Did something happen between them and Pat?

Nothing has been said, but the switch to crush looks more like a well considered business decision

Where did dr.robertdoback and the color picture of the covers surface? Does anyone remember? That may be helpful in tracing back the leak. I can't remember if somebody posted a direct link here ala @BillnTed with the Troubled Times video or what..
