If it IS fake, Green Day should make this album anyway.   Use the cover and name, record 1-800-Lies and use these super nice sounding guitar licks.

It would be like when Weezer did the Teal Album.

Kind of .

I gotta run over to Soundcloud, I think I'm famous now because I got 105 plays the other day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like a lot of you folks out there I've been thinking about all this MOOTIK shenanigans in thas past weeks and the thing is:

I really hated Father of All (at least I can say I treid to like it) and I'm not that much excited for the full release. Putting the sound aside, I feel that this light hearted/serious comedy/cringe posts mindset is, somehow, what led them to their commercial and public relevance downfall back in the day. I'm not saying that they are going down this way once again, but I really feel that in the actual context, they should be pointing towards a more mature and fitting mindset.

Well, after all I'm just a fan and they will be doing what they wanna do, right?

So, I perfectly understand those who are hoping for a quick move after FOAM and the end of their contract with Warner. Those rumors and potential leaks are now filling the emptiness left by a pretty subpar Green Day first single (for some, of course). And YES, the leaks really sounds like Green Day and that album cover is cool.

What I really hope right now is that those who are hoping for MOOTIK to be released or it to be Green Day stuff to slow down their expectations carefully. Go listen to the stuff you like, go find new sounds and support other artists that need your support.

If it turns out to be true down the road it'll be a win-win situation. 😉

I just watched video still breathing. Gave me hope and emotions. Crying. Revrad era so powerful. I like father of all cause its gd but it sucks better than me. I hope magnum is true

The funny thing about all this is, we kind of have to expect that the band is aware of these rumors going around by now - even if they are untrue!

Someone at the show said that Billie said to them that MOOTIK is a fake. 🙃

I wonder if MOOTIK was the album Warner wanted them to release but GD just wanna have some fun and not take music too seriously.

Or it's fake idk

This will be the last time I comment on it

Did he take it down? I just went to look and there's no story up right now

It’s a story from last Friday. Anyway Adeline is closed since 2017, and I can’t see how a sticker on a drum can mean anything.

Yeaah, I bet you 90% of Green Day fans won’t be convinced even though Billie himself unconfirmed it.

Then what the hell are you even doing in this thread? Get out of here you rational bastard!

But joking aside, IF Billie really told that guy it's fake, this raises even more questions than it answers. I still want to know who made the "leaks" and why GD's management does nothing about it even though they obviously know. I mean, this is a copyright issue after all. Ah whatever. MOOTIK will always be in our hearts.

How can it be a copyright issue? If it’s someone altering his voice to sound like Billie, there’s definitely no copyright involved. If it’s a manipulation of Billie’s voice tracks from other songs, it’s impossible to prove it from those clips. And there’s no claim that this is a Green Day song, so the videos cannot be taken down for that reason. If I was Warner, Crush or Green Day I would not act in a different way, what should they do? Make a press release only to create more noise and let everyone knows about the existence of this stuff (when the vast majority of GD’s public ignores it)?

I was more talking about the album cover, the pictures and the font. And the name Green Day on the cover. No press release necessary, but they could have taken the shit down within one second. Just wondering why they didn’t do that.

They can’t take them down in one second. When they take down a clip from YouTube is because there’s either a copyright issue with the audio/video, or a false claim (eg the parody clips of Bang Bang uploaded before the Bang Bang release, which were claiming to be Green Day - Bang Bang). I don’t think they would be able to take down a clip only because a fan art with Green Day written on it appears, but anyway in the dr Robert clips you can never see the words “Green Day” on screen. They have no legal ground to ask Instagram to take them down.

Edit: and even if Green Day or Warner have a copyright for the photoshopped faces of the guys (which is not to give for granted, maybe a photographer, a magazine or someone else have the copyright, maybe they are not under copyright), it’s not that easy to claim something here, not only because from that clip it’s hard to prove that they actually used those images, but because it’s someone filming that fake cover, it’s not the cover itself.

I think we can see the word Green Day on the fake label no?

Nope, it’s covered by the guy’s hand.

At this point all I want is for whoever made the audio to release the damn full tracks!!

Otherwise I will be forced to try and produce them myself, and that won't sound pretty.

You make a really good point - the overtly flippant mindset might accomplish its intended purpose, but I do agree that they risk losing some credibility as this thing runs its course.

As a fan, I stayed on the wagon through the initial "downturn" (felt like the only GD fan on the planet for a while) and I did so with conviction because of the depth of the songwriting and the weight of the themes found on Insomniac, etc.

Despite the early-career shenanigans/d-jokes I felt like the band was growing with every release and I was growing up alongside them. When AI was released, I felt a sort of pride as a fan because the masses finally learned to appreciate the intelligence and maturity that I had respected all along.

As the FOMF era takes shape, I'm a little bummed by the force-fed nonsense. Green Day have more than earned the right to take whatever approach they'd like, but I guess I'd rather see them galvanize their legacy as a respected artist than backslide closer to the likes of countless other acts that have faded from relevance.

You've made your point. More than once. It's obvious you don't agree with other people's opinions, but you can enjoy the thread without ruining it for everyone else.
