But how did this account have the alternate GFB cover and what sounds like authentic clips of Billie singing something we’ve never heard before? You know there’s still 9 more songs on the album that we haven’t heard yet? It could be another song from the album. The art could be a mockup, one of the options presented by their graphic designer that they ultimately decided not to go with. Or both the song and the art could be fake, and someone trolled us good. People always say they’re 100% sure they know Billie’s voice, but I remember just a few years ago there was a fake new Green Day song that I actually downloaded because it sounded so much like Billie that I was convinced. And it’s possible that it is Billie’s voice too. You can download the vocal stems for all the songs from Dookie, American Idiot, and 21st Century Breakdown (from Green Day Rockband) and manipulate them. Slow them down, speed them up, change their pitch. Anyone who has a studio could easily do that. There are no words sung in the clips, just an “ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah” and a shouting part. I think both of those parts could have been taken from songs on 21CB and manipulated.

Especially not in the quality we heard (these leaked songs were mixed and mastered really well, even for such a video). It takes a lot of work and money to produce something like this, too much for just a hoax that everyone would forget in 2 weeks.

Anyone can do it, just look at this. And if someone has studio access, they can do it even better. @Jon Benjamin has studio monitors at home and he's been sending me some of the best sounding demos I've ever heard. His demos sound better than the albums his band recorded in their studio. I think you're underestimating what people are capable of. It's not hard to imagine that some people get a good kick out of creating hoaxes, especially if they can trick thousands of fans. That's worth putting effort into!

I love speculation (conspiracy not that much), and it would actually be fascinating if there’s something true about this theory, but this is so true. I think it’s also unfair to blame Panicland at this point, and the shitstorm they received was definitely too much (and I was part of it, even if at the beginning was just a funny joke). Anyone working/who had worked in that studio probably had access to the necessary skills, technical resources, and video/audio material to produce something like that. All we know is that we don’t know nothing. The song was very catchy tho, whoever made it has great taste.
Yosuke Hanamura Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 It’s so entertaining watching @Todd just debunk everything people throw at him. Seriously, in part, I feel like people are speculating this just because they don’t want to believe that Green Day could make something they don’t like. I personally dig Father of All... Do I want to believe it’s true that we’re getting more stuff? Of fucking course I do.

I don't see it as that black and white. For some, it probably is that they hate the single and wish for something else. Personally, I think the track is a banger, but my appetite for new Green Day is insatiable. That's the one and only reason I want this to be true.

And there are still 9 more songs to come. I'm sure there will be something for everyone on this album, there usually is. If people don't like Father of All..., remember that sometimes Green Day doesn't pick the best lead singles. Remember Oh Love? 37 songs on the trilogy and they chose that to start with?

Is, al least, srtange

I do think there’s merit to the theory, don’t get me wrong, but at the same time I think some fans are trying to pull at straws to confirm this theory just because they think the album is going to be so God awful when all they heard is 1 song.

Could be the band but also could be the band messing with us. Bands don't usually have choir parts recorded when there aren't really an set lyrics for it. Maybe it's something they could re-visit again but I get the feeling it won't come to fruition and if it does it will be a really long time from now, so I think we should just try and forget it. It's not worth it letting it take over your life
Misery11 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Reminder the studio was in canada and is the same one shown in the Panicland videos on their instagram. GD are obviously not in canada. I'm 100% sure it was a hoax. I mean look at the artwork it was just an old painting with crappy photoshopped faces.

Now to make a shitty record to troll Warner. and after that one is released they announce the next one. Maby if they announce it now Warner will sue them.
Billie Joes Eyelids Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 This all could explain the Billie-sounding clips, but what about having access to the alternative cover? Frank M confirmed that this was the alternative cover to GFB that they were playing around with. Again, how does some hoaxer get this?

okotavio Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 On the first day (first!) of promoting their new record Billie said: - Possible new album BEFORE the tour even begins (so the tour is not really to promote the album) - Explicitly celebrated that they were off their contract with Warner - Specifically quoted the duration of the record in minutes (when was the last time he did that?) It’s not about the leaks anymore, which I now believe to be fake. They said themselves there’s a new record coming (which could easily be an EP of the 7 songs off FOAMF. Idk). They said it! What I’m feeling of all this is that there won’t be “eras” anymore. They’ll tour whenever they want, they’ll put out records whenever they want - Metallica and RHCP seem to be doing this for the last years. Touring and putting out records doesn’t have to be linked.

That's very intriguing. I really can't imagine how the cover ended up in Canada. That's the last place Green Day would choose to record, all three of them would have to be there for at least a few weeks if they did record an album there, and that just can't be true because we would have caught wind of that. Remember when they stopped at a studio in Australia for one day and it was all over social media? When Billie went to the studio in Colorado to record with Miranda Lambert for one day, that was all over social media. There's no way they could be in Canada recording anything without it getting out. So I really can't think of a good explanation for this.

The cover is the one piece of this that can’t be explained. And no I don’t think they were ever in Canada. That’s why I was asking previously if we’re absolutely positive that the studio in the clips in a Canadian one, or just one that looks a lot like it.
michel_ale Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 and if billie joe sent them a copy of the album (so that they have an opinion about it), let's say that the album is the only one seen in the first 3 videos, I don't think the vinyls are in the same recording room, also because you would use gloves to show more clearly the cover of the supposed album. Here is another one of my doubts, and if apart from back in the USA song from the compilation album, there were more songs than a more epic tone in which billie realized they could be part of something conceptual, which leads me to his sayings in the interviews he gave: "we had 16 songs". Which is also why they would go back to the studio to record if they were supposed to have everything ready in July.
