Wait what really? could you please quote where you saw this?

And if they really think its funny, I think it truly adds to the proof (like as if we need more) that FOAM is not the real album.

There you go:

I even said a couple pages back, what if the songs were written by Billie, the instrumental tracks recorded by Green Day, then they paid Panicland to record fake vocals!!!!

I'd sadly have to genuinely put Billie out of his misery if he wrote songs called Puppydog Crush, Don't Patronize Me and especially Average Workin Man 😕

The difference is that Panicland aren't middle-aged multi millionaires who have no business telling people not to patronize them or even uttering the words "average workin man" and "puppydog crush"

Totally agree with @Thatsername, this is the first time I've felt excited and good about "Green Day" since before they announced the Hella Mega Tour. I've been letting Green Day and what they do on a daily basis just completely go past me, didnt even care if they performed or attended an event or released a single or whatever, and in my... 12-13 year career as a Green Day fan, that has never happened before. And now I'm actually giddy again, I'm enthusiastic about releases and news, I'm talking to my friends about it and showing that video to my family who dont even like Green Day, just like I always did with Green Day stuff.  Even THEY have noticed that my "Green Day phase is over".

I totally feel you. But I hope (and I'm actually pretty sure) that your Green Day phase isn't over forever :) I see it this way: I have loved - with very few exceptions - almost everything they put out in the last 30 years. I mean, wow. That's quite an achievement. It's okay to do something I absolutely don't like once in a while, I guess. Am I disappointed and sad and sometimes even angry to feel this way? Yes. But I'm confident that there will be times when Green Day and I are on the same page again. And I will always love them, I just can't un-love them, it's simply not possible (I hope they know that). We've been through too much together. A new era will come one day. And until then, we have MOOTIK.

This is so true. That feeling of a new Green Day song that sounds new, exciting and fresh, but still sounds like GD. Haven't felt that yet with this new era which is already feeling stale and old.

while 8 songs remain a mystery? lol

No fucking idea fellow Czechian. I just play power chords until it sounds right!

Also. The fucking melody in Don't Patronize Me... 😍

honestly, I will just make my own artwork for the booklet and everything, print it, and add it to my green day collection xD

but I need them lyrics @Panicland 👀 pls ❤️
Or can some native speaker write down the lyrics?

In take a stand, they say "Let's make this riot great again" about a million times. What a great line! 😂

You know, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... MOOTIK sounds like a Green Day album.

Tbh, while Take a Stand sounds like it could've been a green day song, i really think Don't Patronize me sounds much more like a My Chemical Romance song. Which is absolutely the opposite of anything I ever expected from Panicland so double mad props to those guys

Gloria, hello. We need the Bratwurst arrangements.

Also I agree so much. It's like MCR met GD and created MOOTIK. Stuff is so fascinating.

The insane thing is if I didn't know this was panicland, I would be 100 percent convinced that this was billie's writing. Though I have absolutely no faith in any second green day album anymore, I can see why people may still think it's fishy... :P

Also I'm pretty sure i heard in Take a Stand

"Let's tranquilize this dying cow/ and bring it down to Mexico"

So now I'm hella mega confused

I think the thought behind “Average Workin Man” is that it’s a play on “Working Class Hero.”

Agreed. I’m so weirded out listening to this, because it’s so faithful to Billie’s style of writing. I can hear TEENY TINY indicators that it’s not his voice, but honestly if someone said this was GD, I’d believe them. “Hitch a ride with all your demons/lets make this riot great again” like, wow. Panicland is the most talented fanfic writer of all time, lol!

This is so fascinating. I believe this is a quite unique situation. Of course for most of us this will forever stay a funny prank we fell for, but at the same time it's kind of redefining what "a green day album" means. This is different from fanfiction, because we did believe this was Green Day and we most probably would've happily kept believing it for a while if it wasn't for Panicland admitting to it. So yeah, when we're listening to Magnum Opus the same way we would listen to a legit GD record ("it's giving me some of those Green Day moments" instead of "haha these guys played us so hard") and putting it on the shelf alongside our collections, we basically have a Green Day album that's been written and recorded by somebody else. Which is really amazing, considering that two days ago, no one would think of the possibility that Green Day could be anything but BJA and co.

It’s a Ship of Theseus paradox in a way isn’t it? At what point is it still GD if you replace one or more or all of its parts with entirely similar parts? Deeply philosophical stuff.

I do think they should get whatever permission they need from Warner for the two second samples throughout or replace them with their own mimicry, put their name and faces on it as @AnonymWarnerGermany did and release it.

Or the biggest GD stans of all time to be so aware of every tiny lyrical tic and musical trademark of theirs, not to mention Stepbrothers and every other obscure fan detail that made this believable to other stans. They need to win next years GDC award for biggest GD fans.  👏

They fooled me. Got his voice spot on. Funny that someone lied on here and claimed to have spoke to an Insider that the guy from the American office was behind it hahahaha
