kripack Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Ok, guys, here me out. I've watched the video like a thousand times and I think there's more to it than what we've been told. Ok, so here it goes. 1. the video we've been sent wasn't just panicland telling the story. It's been properly edited and narrated by a quite well know guy from youtube. It clearly took some time and effort to make the video. Seems too much effort if they were planning to just post it here via dropbox for a couple dozen hardcore fans. Somebody said it earlier that it looks like it was made for youtube, yet it's 9:16 for some reason and the guy in baseball hat, who I think made the video didn't upload it to his channel. 2. There's a part in the video, where you can see a screenshot of this threat and it sais 1 of 51 pages. So This thread was only 51 pages when the video was made. And 51st page was in the beginning of November. The videos where Paniclad explain the situation must be even older then that. 3. There are a lot of parts with panicland explaining the situation. And they are shot at different location, different time, maybe even different days. Looks like it took some planning for them to do this. And the videos are addressed to green day, they didn't post it anywhere. So they are in direct contact with the band (well, we already know that) 4. The part were they talk about the long sleeves - there talking like they are about to do it, not like they've already done that. Why would they be filming it then? 5. A lot of shots of the recording process. Someone might even think they knew they would need them later. So, what I'm trying to say is either this video was green day/warner effort to do damage control. They've hired the youtube guy, requested videos from panicland and all that. But then, why would they wait for more than a month to post video here? Or Green Day knew about this whole prank right from the beginning, knew they had to debunk it at some point and prepared for it. I know this all is kind of a longshot and even if I'm right it doesn't change much. I'm pretty convinced it's not the new green day album and Panicland did a great job. But I still feel like we're not seeing the whole picture...

Is there anything other than a debunked theory and spam going on? Some speculation still arises about a possible secret record after the release of FOAMF. Anyways, this thread kind of died down yesterday after Bill Schneider posted a video that Panicland supposedly sent to Green Day themselves, admitting the fake and explaining how it happened. I wouldn't call it spam, it's more of a discussion about how we've been thrown off.

They didn’t hire any youtuber, those are bits taken from that youtuber channel, where he uploaded a video about this whole bullshit deal months ago. Wake up dude, it’s over

cav9mm Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Man, it would be so cool if Panicland got a slot to support Green Day sometime in the future !

Well, the thread was made specifically because of this theory and it was debunked yesterday. I see no reason to have it still open, there is literally nothing to discuss about it other than ''zomg lol they got me XD'' type of posts.

We definitely didn't expect that video to get out aha We did record full songs but just with the intent of making our own personal fan fiction album and the leaks were more of an afterthought. Just realised, this comment is kind of contradicting itself. In the first paragraph you say you "definitely didn't expect the video to get out" but then go on to say in the second paragraph that the "leaks were more of an afterthought". So if the leaks were an afterthought, that means you surely meant for them to get out? How could you have the afterthought of "oh, let's leak this thing" and then be shocked when it gets out? It seems Panicland are giving mixed messages as to what they intended this project to be. Not trying to criticise or anything, just curious.

I say it stays open until Panicland release their Magnus Opus record ! You do have the option of not clicking on the thread or ignoring it .

Until Panicland gets back into the discussion, I see a valid point to keep this ride going. 1 minute ago, MrElPacho said: Just realised, this comment is kind of contradicting itself. Maybe Warner and the band wanted to finally put a stop on this theory so all the focus and attention will only be on Father of All now? 🤷♂️

HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 @Hermione IMHO, it would be a good idea to have a thread to discuss the future of GD after FOAM (meaning going independent/staying with Warner/releasing a new EP/record after FOAM), while the Panicland record discussion fits more the general forum section since it is now clear this is not GD I say this because I have exhausted my interest in this MOOTIK deal, as long as the record will not be released, but I would still be interested in reading and discussing about the post-Warner/FOaM topic, which has clearly nothing to do with this but still it kept being debated in here.

Moving this thread would probably be a good idea, if the category is to be indicative then it's obviously not related to Green Day anywhere as much as it should be. Just please keep the thread going. We need Panicland's word on the songs and their possible release.
