On Hot Rock songs, FOB is #17 and Weezer #20. Green Day are #9. Second biggest debut of the week. Again, considering that it had only 4 days of recorded performance, this is not bad at all.

I'd imagine once it gets a music and/or lyric video, it'll also help streaming numbers and thus chart performance It is interesting considering that that FOB's generation is "millennials", but could also be why they are higher in spotify 8 minutes ago, pacejunkie punk said: Interesting how close the two are on Spotify yet GD is killing the YouTube game. Yep. I should have kept last weeks 3-day numbers somewhere other than this thread to do a comparison.

How does that get handled in spotify? Is there also a link to the song on his artist profile as well?

There is a "populatrty" bar on the far right that will give the play count when you hover over it.
HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Interestingly, Oh Love debuted at #1 on Hot Rock, but only at its second week. Despite its release on a Monday (one day before FOAMF), it didn't even enter the top 100 chart during its first week. Unless something big changed in the way they measure/include songs, this could be an interesting indicator. I hope we will soon have a music video to boost this up

I checked and the answer is yes I can. So now FOB has another access point to their song from his page. That's exposure to another 2.2 million monthly listeners.

True, but the play count is based on a single location file. The same file is used across all locations on Spotify.

Yeah, I think what he means is that the audience is potentially the double, since fans of Wyclef will most probably listen to the song seeing it on his profile.
Squashie Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Monthly Spotify listeners for Hella Mega artists: Weezer: 7,880,951 Fall Out Boy: 22,923,711 Green Day: 15,066,848 Based on these numbers, the 2.2mil from Wycelf wouldn't add much

And some of that could be because FoB have more recent releases than GD. Mania was 2018 vs. 2016 for GD Weezer... I think they are just a smaller band even though their Cover of Africa was huge last year (highest charter for them in a long time).
Montclare Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 @Adorkable Well, that's weird. I could look at the charts at home, but both on my computer at work and phone it says I have to pay.
Squashie Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 I'd look at itunes, but apple pissed me off this morning, so i refuse to open my itunes account today until i get my issue fixed.

Green Day has 9.467.891 followers, while FOB has 7.045.509 and Weezer has 1.759.586, which definitely backs up the claim that FOB's monthly listeners are greatly increased because of their feats in other artists songs. Also, I think the Youtube numbers difference might also be attributed to the big fanbases and general popularity GD have in countries where Youtube is still the biggest streaming platform, such as Latin America.
Christian's Inferno! Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 FOAMF is also no. 9 on Canada Rock chart (https://www.billboard.com/music/Green-Day/chart-history/canada-rock)

When I heard Bang Bang I was ecstatic and I couldn't wait for RevRad. Hopefully, the next single will get me pumped up. The downside (at least in my case) was that I was kinda dissapointed by the rest of the album. Not because it wasn't at least decent, but because my expectations were set incredibly high after Bang Bang. I thought we might be getting a kind of Insomniac feat. Modern Green Day fusion album, which would have been amazing. But we didn't. So, in some ways, I'm happy this song isn't outright terrible (at least to my ears), but also that it isn't incredibly good either. That leaves room for the album to still positively surprise me.

This album might be that kind of album though. The songs are all short like insomniac, this album is even shorter than Insomniac was and it seems that this album is gonna be a lot more rock or punk sounding than RevRad was overall I don't think the vocals will be that bad on the rest of the album. If the rest of the album sounds like the FOAMF chorus, I'll be happy

Flashback Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 I‘m quite happy with Butch Walkers work on FOAM. The drums sound very clean, guitars and bass sound very harmonic 🤔
