Is anyone else genuinely excited by the descriptions of the album's sound in the new interviews? Green Day doing something soul/R&B and dance inspired while keeping their own sound in the mix sounds like it could be super interesting

Yeah! I'm excited about the new wave and motown inspired stuff. Hoping for something groovy like Kill The DJ with a better production

No idea on Spotify but it’s currently at #6 on the alternative iTunes Charts in the UK, but that also features artists like Billie Eilish and Lewis Capaldi.

On American iTunes it's #50 on all songs chart and #6 on Alternative. Alternative also has Lil Nas X on it for some reason so I don't know how accurate it is to actual rock/alt music.

Worldwide plays for the first day on Spotify were 240k. If you have a computer and have the Spotify app downloaded on it, when you go to their page and put your mouse over the popularity bar it’ll show you the number of plays.

What I like about having only one song in the album be longer than 3 min. is that most songs will most likely be fast-paced, exciting songs. And I hear a lot of people complain about the length of the songs, but they seem to be forgetting songs like Stuck With Me (2:16), Geek Stink Breath (2:15), The Grouch (2:12), She (2:14), etc. If anything, going with short, fast songs feels a lot like old Green Day. I'm just hoping that my only complain about the album is that it's too short.

Content matters so much more than length. Yes, I'm upset about only get 10 songs, but quality over quantity. It's crazy that Troubled Times is the same length as Basket Case, yet feels much longer. Substance, people.

Prediction: the rest of the album will sound closer to “traditional” Green Day than Father of All... does. Similar to Oh Love sounding dissimilar to the rest of Uno.

On the other hand, out of ~200 studio tracks (including B-sides, give or take) only 19 exceed 4 minutes. Excluding the four suites which are just small songs strung together.

I don't know where Billie got the idea he was ever in the business of writing "long songs".

My problem with foamf is that I really like this song but Im not emotional attached to it, like songs from ai or 21st for example. And by the sound of it the whole album will be like this. I love the "epic" songs from green day. Like only thinking about restless heart syndrome for example gives me goosebumps.

And we have also angel blue, ashley, troublemaker, fuck time. All songs last less than 3 minutes... and suuuuck 😂 seriously I'm a little afraid of the trilogy vibes I'm feeling of this era so far.
