I srsly think theyre trolling us. There will be another album released a few weeks later 2020. They recorded a new album and this punk/party-ep and decided: lets troll our fans!
I mean read the news on green day - this sounds like a joke! I really think theyre trolling on us!

would totally make sense.

this is the only version of the album I can't buy on the GD store. Is there anywhere else I can buy it?

Wow that sold out very fast 😮

I just checked out the song and can't say that immediately caught my attention, or that it was really too remarkable. However, I also said that a few weeks ago about Lana Del Rey's cover of Doin Time, but here we are now with me singing it with all my heart and 100% investment  I just need more time with it for it to rub off on me

I think it sold out pretty quickly, there were only 1500 copies.

How does one sell out of something that's a fucking digital copy? Just make more!

Just pre-ordered the digital version!

@Q-Man, I am nervously excited as well. Like my hands are shaking!

You mentioned you worked in the music industry before so just wanted to ask you the following:

1) Did you ever experience a change such as a merger or acquisition how did that affect you and the artists and other parties involved in the business and art?

2) Have you ever experienced anything as weird as Father of All Motherfuckers in your time working in the industry?

I was mainly working with Atlantic for the majority of when I worked in music the change over didn’t affect me or the artists I was working with that much the usual changes of staff and such from memory there were some changes on projects but nothing too major

And no can’t say I have we were still stuck on cds when I was deep

What's all the chat about Green Day trolling Warner? What went down?

Posted

As far as it seems they're happy about the album because of its purpose haha

Probably they did enjoy a lot the featured songs for this reason and the single is not bad itself, it's just awkward, lazy and a bit common. as a first single is very weak compared to AI, KYE, Bang Bang, Oh Love (as much as you can hate it the song had a a big personality)

That would actually be legendary if Father of All is just a collection of B-side tracks redone as a 26 minute cluster fuck just to piss off warner - and then have them release a true "Magnum Opus" right after. Withhold quality from Warner just to do it

And the other one would be Songs For Assholes!

It’s too soon for me to say where it stands compared to other songs, but I’m already sure it beats KYE and Oh Love on any level (IMHo of course, no objective truth here).

Wild Guess but maybe Warner didnt want green day to do something political? I mean the News on Greenday.com sort of implies that

"THE LYRICS ARE LIKE A PARTY AND LIFESTYLE OF NOT GIVING A FUCK. THE LIFE AND DEATH OF THE PARTY. NOT POLITICAL. SURVIVING IN CHAOS. THE REAL SHIT. "

Also no matter how ‘poor’ the song may be, we get a new tour, and that’s the important thing!!

I don't like the song.... :( I keep listening to it, hoping it'll grow on me... but meh.

That being said, I pre-ordered the explicit vinyl and the unicorn puke one, because Green Day.

I can be down with that too

Even tough I'm in love with Oh love (ahah sounds like a joke)

I just think they were more solid choices all in all (lyrics, structure, arrangement, mixing)

This is a good listening but leaves you nothing

I thought he just said he wrote 17 songs, not 17 additional songs

That might be the case and i might have misinterpreted it :o
