Knowing that this is basically an album to fulfill contract obligations and get out on their own, all of this is making more sense. The weird AI throwback art. The super short album. The weird vibe. I don't want to sound mean if this is really what they want right now (because they HAVE been like this before in the trilogy era), but it's almost like they're parodying themselves on purpose. We shall see.

Have to say I'm pretty shocked after the speculation. I hope we find out why someone made that other album cover and what exactly that song was on the fourth leaked video as it was pretty great and really did sound like green day. Ironically the actual new green day really doesn't, the vocals really dont do Billie justice. I was so sure that leaked audio was them! Never a dull moment huh!

Apparently Father Of All Motherfuckers album is 26 minutes long and their last with Warner records.

The album artwork looks like they're trolling.

Billie Joe said they'll release new music before the tour now the contract is up.

There are existing copies of Magnum Opus Of The Inglorious Kind vinyl sleeves floating about, possibly leaked by the band themselves.

Theory:

We'll get Father Of All Motherfuckers on February 7th and we'll get Magnum Opus Of The Inglorious Kind also in February 2020 released on Jingle Town Records.

As much as I like the idea of them releasing music more frequently, I worry about what that means for their side projects, which I love as much as I love them.  I don't want to lose those.  Also, without Warner, I worry about them still playing arenas.  I love seeing them in clubs (and bars, and street fests), but love seeing them in arenas too.

I'm tempted to get the limited vinyl, but 25 quid for 26 minutes of music is not doing it for me tbh.

Wow. This has been quite the ride.. As I watched the announcement on YouTube I completely lost my shit. Just pure fucking joy and excitement! I'm happy about the tour dates so far. Planning on going in Sweden, Finland and Norway. I'd like to go for Berlin as well but probably won't be able to afford it. Since there's a thread for it I'll write my thoughts on the single in that one. While I don't hate it one of my first thought was; if this is the single, what the fuck will the rest of the album be? Then I remembered their choices of singles aren't exactly great so I'm not worried lol. The fact that it's only 10 songs and 26 minutes is a disappointment because I was hoping for a longer album this time. 

I still can't believe that album cover is real. It looks absolutely awful. The unicorn is cute but the fact that they put the AI design in there? I fucking hate it so much. Overall I'm not a fan of the aesthetic so far, going by their look in interviews and the merch. Again, the unicorn is cute on its own but it doesn't feel 'right' for GD and the rest of it is just awful. The album description written by Billie is a bit cringey in my opinion but at the same time I love the attitude. Them going crazy with their sound and not giving a fuck is just what I wanted. The lyrics worry me though, I fear they might be very.. Trilogy. 

All in all I'm a bit shocked but still happy. I know we've only heard one song but all things combined the vibe I'm getting is that this album won't be one of my favourites or even one that I listen to a lot. I have high hopes for the live show though, I have a feeling it'll be better and more fun than ever. Also that the songs will be really enjoyable and crazy live. Really looking forward to this album still, but especially the tour

That would actually be legendary if Father of All is just a collection of B-side tracks redone as a 26 minute cluster fuck just to piss off warner - and then have them release a true "Magnum Opus" right after. Withhold quality from Warner just to do it

Yeah same. You can obviously get a certain sense of whether or not you like something on the first listen/day but I don't get how you can really judge new music so quickly. It al l depends on preconceptions, familiarity, context, moods and associated feelings at the time of each listen, in my experience anyway.

I agree. Especially when we all know how great dads they all are and really don't party at all now. They're all about family and doing what's right. They were always such role models. I hate to see them taking this path. The whole thing they're doing now is not authentic at all. But I still have hope, because Billie said they'll release more stuff before the tour, so we could get some more mature and ambitious material from them. I have very mixed feeling about the new song because I actually like the sound and tempo of it but Billie sounds too much like a different band. His signature feel isn't there at all. I pray for the Magnum Opus Of The Inglorious Kind!
