Guest Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I wasn't quite sure how I felt about the ending of Graffitia since I'm not really a fan of songs fading out. Now that I've heard it in better quality I absolutely love it though! Billies voice is so beautiful and it's a perfect ending to the album. The best since AI with Whatsername i think. Quote

It's the lost track from London Calling. 1 Quote
Josh100_3 Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I'm still stuck between picking this up on CD or Vinyl. 1 Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 This album is so fucking good. How they pull this off after 30+ years is beyond me. I seriously can't get over that their now two latest albums contain songs I deem some of their very best ever (Forever Now and Graffitia). Is FOAM on par with 21CB and AI for me? No, but it's still solid as fuck. Just a completely different type of album that I enjoy in another way. Quote
21st_century_gloria Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I resolved to ignore leaks and wait for Friday, but I accidentally ended up hearing a 30 second or so snippet of Meet Me on the Roof before I realized what was going on, haha. It sounded like The Beatles and Elvis collaborated on helium balloons. Not bad by any means, but not what I was expecting. I'm drawing a comparison to the Trilogy in the sense of how BJA is singing in a more or less light/upbeat tune, but with generally dark lyrical content. Really puts meaning into those lines from Ashley: "You say that you're fine/ but I know that you ain't" 🤔 3 Quote

That Dude Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 "oh yeah" is in a ton of the songs. Just saw that azlyrics has the album up, so that's easier than trying to read that screen shot BS. It's in the title track. It's in "Oh Yeah". it's in "Junkies". It's in "Crawl" Well, it's in 40 percent of the songs, anyway. Looks like they corrected the typos as well. This also makes it easier to see how the songs are constructed. The songs are generally verse / chorus / verse / chorus / chorus, which is standard. But the last chorus is changed up on most of the songs. Quote

I agree and I often hate their choices for final tracks but this one was spot on. 2 Quote
Insomniac1984 Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 This is a solid record. In my opinion, the best starts from Meet me on the roof. From that song this record is like a delicious candy. FOAM (song), I like it but Billie's voice with so many falsettos... Fire Ready Aim is an OK track for me, It's kinda The Hives and The Ramones had a baby or something. Oh yeah... It has good lyrics, but as a song is the weakest from the record. 1 1 Quote

I agree but on AI and 21cb they made good choices Amy for Dos was pretty good and Ordinary World was alright Graffitia is perfect though 1 Quote

Even since I was a kid I was like WHYYYYYYYYYYY I actually like See The Light and can understand why it's the closer. Tre as an album is an absolute write off for me. Ordinary World was predictable but a good tune. 1 Quote

Emo I guess but fitting imo. 1 Quote
