That's what I did for RevRad but I ordered FOAM from Green Day's store and I want to know if I should expect it same day. I'm gonna be pretty miffed if my first listen has to be a digital copy.

Also, I'm not sure if Amazon does release day delivery anymore. Last three times I pre-ordered from there my albums were 2 to 3 days late.

I ordered Rev Rad on Green Day’s store and I got it on the release day

I cannot imagine listening to a new Green Day album for the first time on shuffle.

I can, there's been albums I've been more hyped for (no disrespect to green day) that I've put on shuffle first time. Don't think track order is considered too much anymore. Idles had a song about the singers stillborn daughter as track 6 of 12. The most impactful songs aren't necessarily at the end.

Listen to it all the way through.  And whether I listen to a leak (don't really see the need for a leak; not like we have that much longer to wait) or wait til release day, I'll be staying off here, reddit, etc until I'm able to fully process it/form my own opinions.  Which is why if there is a leak, I'll probably listen, so I don't have to stay off for too long.

Oh man, I remember forming my own opinion on Dos and thinking it was SO good.

Then I jumped on here and felt very alone.

Same for me as well. They were reliable in delivery.

Had an issue with my vinyl though and they sent me a new one free of charge.

Wonder if some retailers will not sale the CD due to the title.

I'm considering ordering it online soon, but I'm just not sure.   I really want it in my cd player that morning, but I just don't know that's possible anymore.

I have the songs from the album set as my alarm so that I wake up to them and hate them even more.

Life hack: wanna wake up fast? set your alarm to FRA!

Try when the guitars and bass kick in on FOA. You’ll go from horizontal to vertical in the blink of an eye.

I’m kind of hoping the unicorn is a sticker on the shrink wrap to cover the naughty word.

It's weird that it's only ~2 weeks left! Sure felt like the album wasn't coming out in forever when we got the announcement but we're nearly there. I have been blessed with no school or work the day it comes out so I'll be able to listen to it on repeat all day long, can't fucking wait

I think Green Day is still a band that carefully decides the track order to their albums so I prefer to listen to them in album order. I enjoy an album that ebbs and flows and builds to those impactful moments. But you're right that a lot of artists today don't really put consideration into the track order.

Yeah they probably do, but I almost never listen to an album front to back, rather just queuing songs I want to listen to on the go. Its six of one, half a dozen of the other

One benefit to just having them on shuffle is theres no expectation around a certain track. Im not listening for something explosive as an opener or an almighty closer which could change my opinion, rather just listening to each song as it is.

But yeah I completely get listening front to back and is something I should probably do more often :)

Probably not, since they had that "explicit cover" version without the unicorn.

True, even tho that’s just for the vinyl. It would have been a cool packaging detail to have the unicorn as a sort of sticker/label, something like the banana on the Velvet Underground’s Andy Warhol LP. I doubt it will be the case anyway.

listening to spotify in shuffle mode

forever now comes up .. 😁

then followed by foam song .. 😐

anyway, the new album is near, i wonder if they will release another song of the album before it gets released, maybe even in the same release-week 🤔

I like listening to albums front to back, but I will say on the go I usually like listening to playlists on shuffle. There's something so satisfying about not knowing what to expect next. Sometimes the songs that come up surprise me. It's funny going from Green Day to NIN to Madonna to Hall and Oates to 3Teeth. It can be so random and I love it.
