But it's usually a snobby rock fan thing imo

with all due respect I have seen more close mindedness towards rock from hip hop fans than vice versa. My coming to age was in a punk scene where almost everybody was influenced by hip hop in some way or form. We even had ska/hip hop groups in the scene.

I was at parties where most people there were into hip hop. Guys would start playing little rock shows in the basements and eventually someone would tell us "it's not cool turn it off". This could literally be said about anyone with a preference that prefers to live in their own bubble...

I wonder if Oh Yeah will have a vibe similar to this. Tyla even looks a little like Lil Wayne

Judging before listening or knowing it's synonymous of ignorance, in my opinion. We have waited until today, can we wait until midnight to listen to this song and have a concrete idea? 🥳

Midnight? So it’s already out in Australia?

Whose that negro?

You're like about 5 decades too late on that term lol I know you're from Russia where nobody gives a fuck about racism but come on honestly?

I love this though, I get a warning point for an "off topic" talking about Shapiro when being prompted by other users but this shit is ok here. Not to mention I also got a warning point for addressing racism in another thread months ago. GDC may address it with a mod saying it's not acceptable but they take little to no action to stop it and that's why this is the second time in less than 3 months...

It will probably be 10Am PST (california) OR 5pm PST like the other releases so far.

and acting like you didn't know using the word "negro" was racist is hilarious. language barrier or not, it is 2020. cut the shit out.

hahaha language barrier. There was no barrier for them using the word!

Edit: Post above explains the same thing. But yeah. Also FYI it's better to just refer to a person as...a person or a guy or a dude etc than mention their race for no reason. It comes off as racist to do that.

it doesn't come off as racist if you're not a racist. There's nothing wrong with mentioning someone's race in a respectful manner. I live in Canada where almost everyone in public is of a different background/descent/birthplace or whatever you wanna call it. Race exists and we should embrace all the different cultures and to pretend they don't exist is to somewhat force assimilation on those people with different backgrounds. However, while race exists, hatred towards someone for being a part of a race shouldn't exist.

Don’t even mention 5PM, that’s the 17th in Denmark, I might cry 😢

It'd be the 17th and like 4am for me too but I think it's not a really good time for the release cause it'll be midnight already in most of the countries in Europe but 10am seems fine.

I have to interject here. For the lot of us that aren’t racist pricks, there are two main concerns.

1. That the song isn’t gonna sound like Green Day, or just rock in general.

2. That this is an attempt to stay mainstream, even though they currently are.

The fact that he’s a rapper is what has us worried, not his race. And this isn’t blind concern either, we already have an example of what happened when rap took priority. NightLife happened.

I still say if they had someone else do the rap, Nightlife would be much better. Otherwise, it's not a bad song!

I think the rapper will just be featured in the video, didn't Billie say there was no rap on the record?

One of Mike's best bass lines, no doubt

God, in the Q review they never mentioned anything about 'rap' vibes. Calm down

Yes. Right now we are in danger of W.W 3 and the making of a thread similar to that dedicated to MOOTIK.

I would pay money to hear that, just for laughs, even though I hate the lyrics lmao
