It was more like, we would love to get out from under a label but we’ll see what they offer us before we decide. Not knowing any of their history with Warner, I tend to think it would be a good idea to stick with a major label just simply for the resources one can provide. Since the band is now out from their initial 9-record contract and they've come out of it with a huge clout, I'd assume they have a pretty good seat at the negotiating table and would be able to "correct" a lot of things they didn't like about the original contract. And if Warner can't/won't give in, I'm sure almost any other major label would be willing to sign Green Day. I'm also not convinced the band would do well out on their own. 16 1 Quote

Flashback Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Didn‘t he technically just say that they are off their contract after FOAM? That doesn‘t mean anything. Even if they want to continue together, it still would mean that they are „off our contract with Warner“ 23 minutes ago, Matt. said: Not knowing any of their history with Warner, I tend to think it would be a good idea to stick with a major label just simply for the resources one can provide. I read that they had a 5 record deal starting with Dookie, so they renegotiated even more often 1 Quote

But that could’ve been a scheme to put them in a better bargaining position with Warner. 1 1 Quote
That Dude Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I have it figured out. Because Green Day don't want Warner getting their hands on the Magnum Opus of their career, they have given the masters over to Panicland to promote the album before it actually comes out. Green Day will release theirs after they are on Crush. BOOM ChA HEY 1 1 1 Quote

We probably even live in a simulation and the only thing that's real is Panicland. 1 1 3 Quote

Rev Rad has been omitted from every top 50 of the decade list it qualifies for so far. Really sad to not see it in top 50 rock albums of the 2010s. Was there really that many rock albums in the decade? 2 3 Quote

The Grohl Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Yeah there were a lot of rock albums this decade, but the problem is rock hasn't been popular in the mainstream media's eyes. Not to mention a lot of smaller rock bands are still pumping out albums but they get little to no coverage outside of niche circles. 1 Quote

Yeah for sure but with that said how would Rev Rad not even make a top 50 list? The funny thing is one of the lists actually mentions Green Day in a little monologue yet proceeds to list out the albums with Rev Rad not making the list 😂 What hurt me more was that Black Sabbath 13 didn't make the list either. I don't care if they lean more to smaller acts and actually somewhat prefer that but come on! On a positive side The Interrupters made one of the lists and I agree with that. 1 Quote

I like RevRad but it's not some travesty that people think its nothing special 1 Quote
Popular Post Yosuke Hanamura Posted December 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 20, 2019 Remember whwn people legitimately liked RevRad, and it was considered a pretty good album? I do. Why is it that now It’s getting Trilogy levels of hate amongst the community? Because it’s not American Idiot levels of complexity? Fuck off. 18 1 Quote

GDFan2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 FOAM is only going to be 10 tracks, but I wonder if they’ll ever put out a deluxe edition with all 17 songs 1 3 Quote
Popular Post Montclare Posted December 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 20, 2019 RevRad is still my favorite GD album. I think the reason you're seeing more negativity is because the people who didn't like it as much didn't post a lot during that era, but now that it's a new era, are back. Happens with every band, every album. 3 1 1 Quote

W_FInkThePlatypusHunter Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 RevRad is an album that ages well imo. Too Dumb to Die and Forever Now are my personal favorites from it(I think Youngblood is the only song I really can’t get down with, but I can see it’s appeal for other people). 2 1 Quote

I couldn't stand youngblood the first time I heard it, but it has inevitably grown on me and I actually quite like it now. Sure, there's enough cheese to make a sandwich, but it's pretty damn good cheese. Quote

Popular Post BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 20, 2019 I like revrad too! There are worse tracks, like Youngblood, that's just so bad, but I could see it worked live and not a big fan of TDTD and RevRad (they're both so catchy and good songs in fact but the lyrics??) but it also has Bang Bang and the Nows so that evens it out. It good to listen to it as a whole, because it flows nicely. I love Outlaws but I just can't get over how cheesy it is... it's like Billie has two moods and one is writing stuff like Outlaws and Youngblood where he sounds like a music version of a Hugh Grant movie and the other mood is fUcK it look I'm eDgY and that's where FOAM came from Edit: this morning I woke up with a vision of this so I made it 2 1 2 Quote
