Popular Post BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 18, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 18, 2019 Yesterday I was tuning a radio and I found a channel that played really cool experimental music... after a while I realized I was listening to an empty frequency. I've ascended to a level where no human-made music can surprise me. 2 3 Quote

nohamxx Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 There’s one big problem with the troll album theory if FOAM is supposed to be a troll album for Warner why Green Day are still negotiating with Warner for a new contract ? 3 Quote

I've done a lot of different fusions with punk rock myself. I get bored easily and there's not really a way to do anything new while remaining in the box. Every experiment is truly different sometimes they really work sometimes they leave you knowing you can do better but gets you on the right track. Quote

They are Green Day so they are selling quite good even though I am seeing low numbers comparing these songs to others. 1 Quote

Yeah, I understand that thing about this kind of genre. Most ideas that came, already, well, came. Then it's difficult to make something sound excitingly new without either going for a set style and work exactly with that area (see: Panicland's MOOTIK, which sounds old, like you've heard it before, but somehow new at the same time), or just completely mixing up genres, eventually moving to something different altogether. I think I'm doing both at the same time with my ideas, so I'll just have to see how it turns out in the end like you said. Every success is preceded by a set of mistakes, eh? Quote

Yeah for sure MOOTIK is a pretty cool concept and definitely applicable to this specific discussion. It wasn't really my cup of tea as an entire project but there were things I liked about it. Very unique to Panicland which is awesome for them. I like how they can do all those harmonies. I'd love to hear what they have that's for Panicland and not GD. Some successful moments happen cause there are no mistakes 😂 I just want to clarify that my version of success is mostly how that finished product I created makes me feel. There's songs that I'm like damn I didn't meet my personal expectation for this but people still enjoyed it when I showed them and vice versa. Hell, sometimes the mistake can be the success. You play something wrong accidentally to find that it works with another progression etc. The most important thing for me right now is to blow off steam. I'm way more healthy mentally when writing and recording music. The only thing is I can't do it all the time I don't want to exhaust myself and start sounding bland and I also get way too obsessed with the project and excited by it that I find it hard to sleep at night. 1 Quote
Maddie86 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 How great would it be if the final track was a studio version of cigarettes and Valentines? I think it would be perfect since the label didn't seem to want to release it back then, it would be a funny thing to do for their potentially last album with the label, and this could also be the reason they waited for a February release 2 1 Quote
