Eh, you might be right. It's just that I can't imagine Green Day deciding to share a tour with other bands right before the American Idiot era, for instance. They knew it was gonna be big, which means they know the new album won't be. Or I'm just being stupid and you're 100% right, one thing has nothing to do with the other lol

Because there is no connection.  People lose their shit over nothing.  The last time Green Day did a co-headline tour was with Blink 182 and the album that followed that tour was American Idiot.

I guess I just don't understand exactly what this co-headline tour thing is then, which is why I was asking stuff lol

I thought it meant their main tour for the new album, instead of a regular tour. But you're saying it might be done with before they release something new?

I believe what we've been hearing about this tour is summer of 2020. We don't know when the album is gonna be released of course but February is the month we've been speculating for the album release. But I assume they're going to do some dates almost immediately after the release of the album

Well they didn't have new music to promote on that tour lol it was in promotion of International Superhits.  I'm saying there's no need for people to try and make a connection between who they tour with and what the music will sound like.
