Next Album Anticipation Thread....Chapter 2

before the 21st cent. breakd. i was predicting a more rock n roll ,garage sound because of the Foxboro Hot Tubs which didn't happen. And  of course American idiot doesn't follow up to the sound of The Network at all. So this time i wasn't expecting a basic, the coverups or the longshot like sounding album but this is still 100% a surpise. The clips we saw and the potential cover of the upcoming album, even the title of it, are signs of a new aesthetic. I wonder when we finish hearing the record if there will be a concrete message spread throught it, or an incomplete one reduced to some parts of it (the latest has happend in previous GD records like RevRad). It will also be intresting if they focus on religion for a second time. I liked it as one of the themes of 21stCB record, i didn't like at all how they debated about it in interviews. I hope that the first single of the upcoming album succeeds in appealing to the masses and still have in-depth content that will communicate the messages of the record.

The audio from this 4th video and the 2nd aren’t the same. The lyrics are clearly different in the scream part, so two different parts of the same song?

What makes me really happy is the fact that they have vented their "easy jobs" with The Longshot and The Coverups and they left the best sound for this record. I wanted a challenge, because RevRad was okay but too easy for them. I really want Green Day out of their comfort zone and it seems we're gonna have it.

I think you can‘t increase the level of leaks anymore. First many videos while recording and now a video showing the album artwork while running the finished song on a player in the background. What else can they now leak? I think the next step is information or announcement!

To me Longshot was the best thing Billie has done since 21stCB 10 years ago personally

The “general populace” would lead you to believe Green Day has been in a steady decline in after 21st CB. The Trilogy and RevRad left a bad taste in their mouth and they feel as though there’s no coming back(I think both eras had their highs and lows IMO). Blended up copies of Nimrod ready for liquid aided consumption and Bratwurst aside, given the recent leaks I think this album will melt our faces off.

They’ve done it twice before, both times when people thought they were in decline. There is no reason to not believe they can do it again.

Timing wise it makes perfect sense for this album to be their highway to the top again. Even if it’s one last time, they have it in them to get up there one last time and rock the world.

Yeah it seemed they got stuck making okay albums but these leaks make it look like this album will make jaws drop.

Still feeling some trilogy vibes from it, but not musically.

Who knows.. as far as I'm concerned the future is still unwritten.
They may have their thoughts and ideas for how to proceed their career from here on in, but it wouldn't be the first time that they end up changing plans.

They can be very unpredictable, and I love them for it.
