I always interpreted it as a sword stabbing through a heart...like a visual representation of "rage and love". A sword and heart makes me think of sacred heart imagery, which is still religious...but I was raised Jewish and don't know much about what it means or it's origins (I'll probably Google it now lol). I've just seen it used a lot in tattoos, jewellery, fashion, etc...and it's been a while since I've seen one too so I could be remembering it wrong 😝
