He was making it “blink”, so wake up time? Coming off their break? Not really sure.

How about no politics or just not cringey, T Swift/Billie IG rant level politics? Longshot album was excellent and didn't touch politics. I'm not against political messages in their music, just not extremist speech or showing up late to jump on the agenda-wagon and ride the coat-tails of longstanding social movements (ie. 99 Revolutions or T Swift's song, both which commented on events years after the drama and debate).

yeah, I agree with this. Having politics in their songs is fine (obviously cause it's GD) just not an excessive amount to where you can't even focus on the song other than "it's political."

- lol sorry if this doesn't make sense, it's hard for me to explain it in words 😂

Extremist speech? When, where? 😂 By the way, 99 revolutions is from 2012 and the Occupy Movement started in September 2011 and lasted throughout 2012, doesn’t really fit your description :)

I mean Green Day is a band of leftists and they've been expressing their political belief via music for years so I don't think that'll stop anytime soon. Especially in such a divisive and heated social climate.

Sounds about right.

But whatever, their personal ideologies don't matter. I would just expect more tunes with a biting political message like Back in the USA in the future.

So exciting to wake up to 8+ new pages!  Went to bed last night seeing the start of the RS rumours and not believing them but had forgotten about Bill’s post with the guitars, thought he was visiting somewhere and just took a pic with them but now wondering if there is something to this.  Not sure why they have hair stylists etc with them though if it’s just a straight performance though so perhaps something else going on too.  Funny, years ago they turned down touring the the stones but somehow it wouldn’t feel wrong anymore, a couple of numbers together would be great.

It would be rad if they announced the new album on stage opening for the Stones. Prob won't happen but it'd be cool.

I didn't say they engaged in extremist speech, but BIllie does on IG and I don't want to hear it in their music.

Also 99 Revs was cited in many reviews as being "late to the party" and being hypocritical coming from 3 1%ers.

OMG Green Day opening for or joining The Rolling Stones onstage would be out of this world. It is definitely possible because The Stones sometimes do that, Ed Sheeran and Dave Grohl have joined them for a song or two recently. If this is really happening, I would kill to go to that show.

I agree to disagree, we must have very different understandings of extremist speech, everything he posts about politics seems fairly reasonable and actually quite moderate to me :)

And from the interviews I remember, 99 revolutions was written about and during one of the Occupy Movement demonstrations in Oakland (I guess sometimes in 2011/12). It’s not really Billie’s fault if it takes a few months to record and release a record. And I don’t really see why he should not comment or write a song about that, being hypocritical seems the classic hypocritical critique of a right wing commenter.

Right because screaming at comments on IG and swearing at them is "moderate."

That is being a 47 years old who does not know how to behave on social media, it’s definitely not an extremist political speech  😅

Yeah I agree. I think they honestly might just be doing some photoshoots or interviews or something
