Strangely, I'm trusting this guy lol

Yeah, its admirable how much some of them go out of their way to try to convince us they're legit. Good on them!

I'm not believing it in the slightest though

I honestly don't think any sources or insiders know anything at this point.

So @Jet Taman pointed out to me that the leaked single shares a title with this song and suggests they are doing a cover. Not sure if it’s speculation or based on anything legit (or if he was making a joke):

If they genuinely were worried about their job why bother leaking any information?

Surely not a cover as a lead single?

That’s what i thought. Remember Back in the USA? When we only had the title everyone thought it would be the Chuck Berry song but then it turned out to be an original song with a borrowed title so he’s done that recently (and also with the Longshot with Turn Me Loose)

I’m guessing they don’t want to say where they work, but I wouldn’t see any more risk in saying what they do for a living without mentioning who they work for.

I wish the trolls were at least more creative.

There isn’t going to be a 5 month wait between the first single and album. Just because Green Day is under new management doesn’t mean that their formula of releasing al album will change.

Even though the new management has done that with other artists?

It kind of does

I guess it all depends on how much power they have against the label. Which I’m sure they would’ve discussed before signing

It means exactly that, especially if they switched management for precisely that reason.

I was wondering the same thing.

The guy from yesterday (or was it the day before) claiming to know things about the album like the track list, he was trying to convince us of his validity

It was from the same person who posted the Kill your tv thing yesterday, basically saying how they can’t say their source for risk of losing their job and that they don’t know the album name or sound or something like that

Addressing comments/questions about the post regarding a Sep 6 single. Gist of it was he would not give up his source, for fear of jeopardizing his place in the industry; does not have further information about the album; has not heard the alleged "Kill Your TV".

It wouldn't be the first time I wrongly called bullshit at a legit song name, but I don't believe the single just happens to named the same as some video they posted on IG 3 years ago. Someone was looking for inspiration, stumbled upon this old post and took it to make their trolling look Believable TM.

It can if both came from Billie’s brain. I also believe Kill Your Friends was meant to be a GD song so Kill Your TV could be another attempt at a song that everyone would agree on along similar lines but more punk.

Kill Your Friends, Kill the DJ, Kill Your TV

Nobody is safe in Billie's mind

All of those can happen in Murder City.

Yeah, it's not impossible, especially with Billie's fondness for recycling ideas. Might as well be trolling though. I don't buy it, but then, I didn't buy the revrad tracklist that turned out to be legit. I still think BJ sat down and wrote the most Green Day-sounding album he could think of.

Also around the time he was writing for the album SWMRS did this (the line is from Berkeley’s On Fire):
