Redundantuserjinxboy Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 It's probably not longshot related as they just announced a small new tour and unless they plan on announcing an album or something (which isn't happening,) I don't see what else it could be. As for that new single BJA is on, thaaaats probably likely since Matt did say something along the lines of it may not be what we expect or something. And unless he's referring to the 4chan leak being not what we expect, he probably means green day. But new Green Day news isn't out of the picture. Going off of insider rumors, the album is done. So announcing it with a new single some time this week isn't impossible. Matt said Green Day is the focus of the summer, yes it may not be summer yet but, shit, might as well be. Just because they're the focus of the summer doesn't mean they can't start the momentum late spring.

If the album truly is done and out of Billies hands then I can see why he'd want to do a small Longshot tour before it's time to go back to Green day for the next- however long this era will last. Again it would seem a little odd to announce a new Green day song then immediately go on tour with the Longshot but it does make sense to me. It's not like he'd going to be touring with Green Day right away, he probably wants to do this before the promotion of the new record kicks in and he's ball and chain'd to doing interviews and stuff

God I love this thread, I think I said something like that about page 25, or maybe not 😂 Seriously, I agree, I think he just is incapable of sitting about for prolonged period and doesn't have young kids about like Mike and Tre do so he's just doing what he loves best and I don't really see that announcing a GD single would have any impact on the Longshot gigs as they are already announced and tickets sold. I would be surprised if the single release is the Jesse Mallin one, the collaboration with Billie doesn't seen to be the headline news on the Jesse Mallin album that I can see.

I don't think it's a good thing Billie doesn't wanna stop at all and wants to always keep making something. I know making 21st killed them (and they did kinda do some other stuff in that time like fob and pinhead) but they gave it their all and the result was an excellent album. Focus is the key to creating something good. Hope the album proves me wrong though

I know that obviously those songs weren't good enough to make the cut but it's probably the best group of songs ever to miss a cut on a GD album along with the cuts for Dookie. I do have a feeling that we will eventually get the album but it's going to be later in their career. I'd be more excited for this than the new album.
