If it exists, it could end up on one of those career-spanning box sets. Like the Definitive KISS Collection or something.

I can see it as a Longshot song.

If they did record it, it would’ve already been on Demolicious or God’s Favorite Band

This thread will stop trolling each and everyone on Friday. Then we have clear statements. I am 90% sure.

How are you 90% sure? What evidence do you have?

Not necessarily. They have dozens of songs that have yet to see the light of day. I don't know for sure that a studio version of Dreamcatcher exists, which is why I worded my post carefully. But its exclusion from Demolicious and GFB doesn't preclude its existence.

I would like the new album to sound like the longshot stuff more punk style riffs though but basically that music. Imagine those quality songs maybe even slightly better with the full regular band? Id really fucking like that!

I think Longshot sounds too much like retrospective pop rock. They need to do something fresher.

I reached a conclusion about this thread.

It should be created in April 1, not April 2.

Maybe if the thread hadn't been shut down on April 1 as an April Fools joke

I was just thinking about that tagline on the Songs For Assholes Instagram, “If you’re knocking you don’t belong here.” Obviously that means they don’t want us to see anything yet but could that also be a lyric in one of the songs?

I haven't been on that instagram, but maybe the lines means that to belong there you have to come in without knocking? :P

Just because they're God's favorite band doesn't mean pleading with Him/Her/Them will get us what WE want 🤠

The next album I'm sure won't sound like Longshot, otherwise what's the point in doing The Longshot?

Billy sings lead for both bands they might sound a lil similar

I love The Longshot, but this. Seems unlikely he'd create a side project and then just do the same thing again with Green Day. Like it could have some influence on it but I think there'd have to be something more to it or something different about it.

I can't see The Longshot having any influence on this upcoming Green Day release personally. I just look back to the previous side project albums we've had over the years (FHT, he Network) and the fact that the Green Day album that follows each of those sounds completely different.

I just want a hard, fast punk album like Insomniac.

I'm not expecting one, I'd hoped RevRad would be it based off Bang Bang but alas.

I love Insomniac as well but the guys in 2019 aren't 20 years old nor mad at anything. So a fast punk album wouldn't have any feeling to it. I'd rather get some honest music than something like "let's get punx and fast just like old times"

Fair enough, but Bang Bang was a fast punk song with a "Modern/Post AI Green Day" twist though, so not something straight off Insomniac, stylistically speaking.

They might still be inspired to do a more punk leaning release. They have heavier songs in the later years of their career i.e. Bang Bang, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, East Jesus Nowhere, Let Yourself Go, Makeout Party.

I'm not expecting an Insomniac sounding record but a heavier or more punk sound is still very much possible

You're kidding yourself if you think they're not mad at anything. But I think we can all agree that honest music would be better than an album's worth of forced politics.

Remember the Foxboro Hot Tubs? Green Day’s ¡DOS! album was basically kinda like a FHT album, Billie said it himself, so it can happen!
