A group in the UK recently played an anthology tour where they did 3 nights in each city to play their entire catalogue in full to celebrate their 10th anniversary as a band. However, their back catalogue consists of 5 albums and not 12 😂 It would be awesome if they did something similar to celebrate their early years but I think that’s a bit ambitious for a band as big as Green Day.

Saying that (somebody correct me if I’m wrong), but wasn’t their first ever show as Green Day 30 years ago this October? I only know that because I’m sure it’s near enough the same day I turn 30. Unlikely but not impossible they want to play some celebratory shows in Cali.

Please excuse the skepticism of some of the people here. It’s just that over the years there have been many trolls that claim to know things and are full of shit so it’s hard to separate the ones that legit know something.  It’s a built up defense mechanism to be highly incredulous to the point of mockery (and unfortunately means the occasional insider gets insulted right on out of here).

They changed their name a few weeks before the 1000 Hours EP came out, which was in April of 1989.

its odd that people would want to claim to know things about a band and make a big thing out of it. theyre just a band. just people like you and i.

get attention for what though? if a person thinks theyre gonna win some award for acting like they know something about a band then theyre weird and deserve to be ridiculed.

I was referring to several other people who post about "inside info", I actually thought you were joking about it and just posting a common sense guess . Idk, I've already heard that a Bob Gruen book is coming out myself and seeing Green Day are in the studio and surmising that they might be preparing for an album and tour does seem pretty vague. Nothing against someone posting something about that if they do know about it from an inside source but I guess I'm personally just not that interested when it's stuff you'd expect the band to be doing anyway and you never know if someone is just guessing or not.

It's getting attention for the sake of getting attention. A fun thing to do when you're bored and a pretty safe way to troll I guess - who would dare to ban someone who might actually be an insider!
