Whereas who knows if we'll ever see the Longshot again. I'm already depressed thinking we might not get anymore shows. It's one of those blessings in disguise that half of the shows had to be postponed because it'd be all over by now otherwise. I mean I had it for GD too but this is worse because like you said, who knows what the future holds but the odds are worse for Longshot compared to GD. And as much as I love GD's music and the shows they put on, this was really freakin' amazing because the rooms were so small. Like whether I got to touch Billie or not, there's a different level of intimacy to a show in a 200-600 person room compared to an arena. The connection between the audience and the band is automatically stronger.
Hermione Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I never thought there'd be shows as intimate and fun and exciting as the FBHT ones again, it's so awesome that out of the blue we have them again with this. The more the better! Of course GD can play small shows too but having that name attached just means it can never be as under the radar and work quite as well. It's only really achievable with a side project so while we have one it should be treasured.
Khaleesi. Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I've had so much more fun at these Longshot shows than I've had at any Green Day shows. I've met amazing people in line, was right up front for very intimate shows and have had awesome interactions with the band. I'd honestly be really stoked to see Longshot at least a few more times. Everything feels so much more personal and everyone is connecting more on so many different levels. Billie looks like he's having the time of his life and it's rubbing off on everyone around him. Longshot forever!
RedundantIdiot Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I feel that either the Longshot play gigs that I have a realistic chance of going to (I.e in the UK or Europe) or Billie moves on to preparing GD album #13. But I'd love to hear more of the Longshot after the next GD album as they sound great and Billie looks like he's having so much fun playing with them.

There will always be side bands and special club shows. Hopefully they would, but there's no guarantee. The last time for the Network was 2005, Pinhead Gunpowder was 2010 (granted, that's more Aaron than anyone), and there's only been three shows in the sober era for the Foxies (still waiting for the show Billie promised last summer). There may always be side projects, but I mean specifically this lineup/this band (okay, I mean Kevin more so than anything else, but ya know ).
solongfromthestars Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 For now at least, definitely The Longshot. I did love RevRad, but Love is for Losers speaks to me in a way music hasn't for a long time. The shows are so much fun and if they did do a European tour (or another album??? pls), that would be amazing. Also Trilogy songs = happy me. There are some things about the intimate shows I don't like. I feel like there's a lot of hostility in the fandom that's not as obvious at big shows, and it's really brought out the worst sides of some fans. But then it's incredible Billie is actually playing venues like this, and such an amazing chance to have fun in a setting we'd never have seen him in otherwise. I don't want The Longshot to be over
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Honestly, I just selfishly want more Longshot because: 1. People need to acknowledge that the Midwest exists (or Southeast, for your sake @Laura!). 2. I'm still pissed about the people who hijacked the end of the DC show because I don't remember any of it because I was fighting for my life. But yeah, without making this a debate about the current Green Day setlist, all I'll say is it's way more fun going to a show that's new and not completely scripted.
pacejunkie punk Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 A midwest tour would be great. I’d definitely travel again if they did that (or come to Pittsburgh and I won’t have to) 😉

They're not going to travel to the Midwest simply because it doesn't have the sites and sounds of cities on the coasts. This tour is also a vacation of sorts for Billie and he's not going to want to travel and see farm land and corn fields along the way. If people in the Midwest want to see them they can fly out there.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't come here, I would be pleasantly surprised if they did. Plus, a place like Chicago, for example, isn't exactly a farm or corn field.

Montclare Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Debating whether or not to hang out at this cornfield again this weekend.

Also remember these guys are on a bus tour too so you're not going to want to be on a bus going through the Midwest. Now, could they fly to Chicago or Minneapolis and put on some shows? Sure, those are big fun cities but just trying to think like they would they're probably not going to want to sit for 10 hours on a bus driving through Nebraska, Iowa, or Missouri to do an entire Midwest tour.

My guess is that Billie won't ride the tour bus 10 hours, he will fly.

I didn't say they needed to do an entire Midwest tour... I'd be happy with just one date within reasonable driving distance!

AmyxLongview Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 In terms of music, Green Day is more exciting to me. In terms of touring, Longshot! Those shows look like so much fun and you can tell Billie Joe loves it. I really hope there are more tours to come.
